Rapunzel at $800?

I thought $100 was a bit too much for Rapunzel few weeks ago. I finally understood why her price is so high, but $800? I thought $400 was enough. I understand if someone wants her so much can pay $800 for her, but this price makes me want not to collect special offers at all. What do you think? I would love to hear your opinions...

I personally would not spend over a $100 for a pony.

But some people really want them, and if they have the money, then I think its fine to splurge. Someone has to buy the rare ones! =-P

But don't let that deter you from buying other mail orders. There are many that are affordable such as the TAF babies--they range from $50 to $80. =-)

Well, I can understand the frustration over a pony going that high. I would never pay that much unless I won a huge jackpot! lol. However, I cannot knock someone who can and is willing to pay that much. There are many other mail order ones that are not as pricy though. Also, sometimes you can snag a good deal too. I got my MO G1 Stockings for way less than she is valued at because I caught a mislabeled acution one ebay. Or, sometimes you can get the G3 exclusives at good deals too. I know hasbro is still selling some of them on their website. They don't ship internationally, but maybe you could get another member to help you out with that. :)

I agree with what apanda said. I don't like spending more than $100 for a pony. But there are a lot of affordable MO ponies out there. Don't forget the pearlized babies. They're even more affordable than the TAF babies. They usually range from $20-$30. And Lucky, Clipper and Tux N Tails are all affordable.

So don't give up on the MO ponies just yet. I just wouldn't set my sites on Rapunzel or Sweet Scoops unless you want to pay a bundle, however.

That's the pony I was talking about in the other thread about Rapunzel, the one that's been on ebay forever because her price is too high. The seller says she thinks her tail has been cut. You can't ask a premium price for something in less-than-premium condition. Punzie is probably worth between $400 and $500 right now, depending on who is buying.

Rapunsel

Isabella keen does some major rapunsel replicas. I asked her to a rapunsel replica for I, but not too long asked for a refund because I was buying a mip rapunsel :) yes I bought her and got rapunsel today :)

Jumps with pony joy.

But you can get Isabella to do a replica of rapunsel for less than a 100.00 her customs are to cry for. They are so origional to factory that put 2 rapunsels together origional and her custom you would not be able to tell them apart :)

She has a bait the one she got for I, I am sure she would love to make one for you :)

The rest of the mail orders are cheap like 100.00 or less unless you wanted sweet scoop or mom and baby pony, but at least they are cheaper than a rapunsel.

Good luck friend, I hope you get her soon weather origional or custom made :)

Abcwinter :)

I could never afford that much for a pony and if I did my mom would kill me. Also I once saw Rapunzel sell for much higher, she is one of the most expensive ponies out there. Anyone that owns her is so lucky

You should just collect the ponies you want/appeal to you. For example, I myself don't own all of the pearlized baby MO's because Firefly and Cottoncandy's flesh-like color creep me out :p

Don't give up on your desired MO's just because the inflation around an average-looking pony (IMO haha) has reached utterly ridiculous proportions! Think about it: that crazy bidder is now down almost 1000 bux, which means they won't be setting insane maxes for the next few weeks. ;)

(Sorry if you are actually posting this because you're specifically bummed out about losing that Rapunzel auction and I dissed your grail pony... I just don't get the appeal.)

i don't get it either. but i do know that people pay according to how badly they want something. there are a lot of people out there that really want her to have her price up that high. while i personally would never spend $1000 on a pony (probably not even $20) i do understand wanting something bad enough to pay a lot of money for it (like me spending a few hundred one just one care bear)

even though i don't get the big deal about her, i still think she's mesmerizing.. and i don't know why! i guess i look at her symbol and remember all the fairytales i loved as a child.

I mean... that's pretty much her going rate. It's a ridiculous price, but that's how much she costs. Maybe $500 on the low side.
Although there have been a few lucky ducks to find her for a ROBBERY (just cause steal sounds like too small a word) for about $5.00
Man, I'd love to be that person! I don't even want her and I'd go weak in the knees if that happened to me!

(sigh) you might hate me! But I have been reading this thread.....thinking to myself.......my 4yr old daughter and I LOVE MLP......soooo my hubby picks them up at thrift stores and yard sales....etc....
knowing one of us will WANT them......I had know idea how much Rapunzel was WANTED!!!!!
We have 2 of her now!!!! One from a thrift store BAG of ponies(bag cost $3)....the other Rapunzel came from Craigslist, she came with a bunch of ponies and the ice cream shoppe.....that my hubby paid $20 total for.....WISH I could post pics!!!! (can't figure it out.....:p) sigh. Both are in GORGEOUS condition! One has better curls to her tail and main (so that one is mine).....BUT the other is in my daughters room!!!!! (top shelf, to keep her pretty- BUT she is there to be played with!!!!!!!!!)
Honestly.....she(my daughter) might(and I stress MIGHT- not to get too many hopes up) BUT trade her.....depending on what she might get in exchange!
(My daughter is into the newer LPS items.....and Petit Blythe dolls.........and she doesn't have any BIG brother ponies!!! she wants them!!)

My 4yr old daughter is considering a TRADE!!!!!!!! I pulled the 2 Rapunzels last night.....this morning she noticed! Wanted to know WHY they were together....she knew one was hers, one was mine......I asked her if she wanted "more ponies" for trading her ONE pony. She is reluctant....lol....she loves the PINK and LONG pretty hair......BUT.....she is curious as to what she can get to trade for her!!!!!! (then she can decide easier) lol......so, I have pulled Rapunzel from being played with. So I am taking photos and going from there!!!!!! (afterall, we still have the other Rapunzel.....what is mine, is hers. =)

Any YES, I feel sooo lucky my hubby supports our MLP craziness! =) Without him, I wouldn't have either of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A great way to find her for a reasonable price (and other rare ponies for that matter) is to try local conventions. Not of the pony variety either. A lot of conventions usually have toy collectors and sellers. Sometimes they just don't know what they have or if they do, they use one set price for ponies of the same size and type.

I was able to find my Rapunzel for $5 in a dirty bin mixed with g3s and a few other tattered g1s at comic con. The vintage toy thing is huge anywhere with booths. It was great because at events classically geared towards guys the vendors don't usually know much about "girl" toys.

She can also upload photos to her very own album on here!
Just look on your profile, darling!

Wow....2 Punzies in thrift shops! That is the stuff dreams are made of. My dreams anyway. lol.

When I split up with my husband I had to sell a few ponys....because I'm the way I am I couldn't do too many tho, so I just have to replace few lol....anyway, Repunzel was put on ebay but a huge amount on her and she didn't sell......I'm so happy bout that:*******:
