Happy New Year Everyone! Wanted to share my Gusty project that I finally completed today. Gusty is another pony my awesome SIL gave me. She came with a lot of problems. She was dirty, her tail was pulled through unevenly, had tail rust, and the inside of her body was filled with dried out mold. But her hair was beautiful and silky and her markings were awesome. I decided to give her the extra TLC she needed.

I cleaned her external body and couldn't get all of the dirt to come off, not even with a magic eraser. I removed her tail and metal washer, then soaked the inside of her body with OxiClean. I later went back with a bleach solution to make sure the mold was completely dead. I hoped the inside cleaning would make her outside blemishes lighter, but nope. So I hesitantly gave her an Oxi Bath. I had read it could damage glitter symbols, so I only left her in for 15 minutes. And boy did that work! Any remaining dirt had loosened enough that I was able to then clear it away with the magic eraser. I reassembled her and began to panic when I tried re-inserting the tail. I watched tutorials, but her tail wouldn't go through. It took a bit and a very sore thumb from pushing the tail through so hard and I finally got it. I am very pleased with how she turned out.

I later learned on another pony that if the tail is really hard to insert you can run the pony under hot water to soften the plastic and that will help tremendously. But then you have to wait some more to make sure she's completely dry again before reattaching the head.

You did a bang up job! I have a tub fulla dirty Ponies that probably wish they lived with you instead of my lazy self...

Sorry Ponies!
