Price for Rapunzel

So, what did people decide would be a good price for her? In general? I just can't believe the one on eBay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6002032495&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

She doesn't even look good...her hair isn't that flattering and her mane looks cut. That just seems like a lot for a pony that doesn't look MINT, you know what I mean?

I may very well have to sell mine, but I am wondering what people think her price range should normally be...

Hi there,

I'd say around $500.00 maybe? It's just a wild guess. Second oppinion anyone?

God...I can think of 10 different places 500.00 bucks can go rather than blowing it on a plastic horse  sorry...I know some people would spend it, but if that's the price she's been going for I might as well give up ever trying to own her

....

Between 400 and 700 depending on condition. This is an average price for Rapunzel which doesnt surprise me in the least. And to some people its more then just a plastic horse.

The latest ones I've seen on Ebay has all gone for $500 something so I think that's her current value.
I think that is a pretty normal price for her. Normal in this case - for collectors - that is. I couldn't afford it though. And I doubt I ever will pay that much for her. Seems like too much money. If I ever get rich though *dreams* =P

I guess

I guess that is about normal for her, but some of the sellers other auction BIN prices are really really high.

Hmm, the price I'd pay for her? Well I haven't got one as I'm rather hoping for some car-boot miracle (or otherwise) and I'm not desperate to own her, but so far the average going price for a really nice one is $500, MIP is $1000+!!

I would NOT pay $575 for that pony..she's not even minty

My friend paid $450 for hers recently. There is NO WAY I would pay that much for her! I think the most I would be willing to spend would be $200, and that's asking a lot from me! LOL

I thought it was a tad high, given her hair looked puffy, and like it might be frizzy. I knew she'd go though. I would have paid say, $450 for that particular Rapunzel max.

If someone bought her for $575, then that one to one person is worth $575. Mine's near mint and if I had to sell her, I'd price her at $550.

And if you think $550 for a piece of plastic is alot, look up Barbie Pony Tail 1959 MIB. Yea. Rapunzel is almost worthless compared to that.

HOLY COW! That's a lot to spend on a doll!!

I'd say $400 to $450 for a mint one, but I may be a bit outdated. I sort of agree with you Galaxy. Even if I spent $500 in one lump sum on ponies, I'd hope there's a Ladybird in there, and a half ton of others. Too much for ONE pony though.

Barbie

Ha ha... never mind MIB, I looked up that Barbie you mentioned and a loose one went for $1329!!! Wow!

Now, back to Rapunzel... I too hope to find her at a garage sale or flea market someday. I have to admit though, if I did it would be tempting to sell her for $500 and buy 50-100 other ponies with the money!! :)

re

i'd say in the 400 dollar range is a good price. there was one in mint condition that went for exactly 400 bin, and when the seller put it in auction before it didn't go higher than 270 dollars (or somewhere around there). I don't know if it's the summer but I think her price might have gone down a bit. good luck! :)

All I can say is wow, that's a lot for a pony, no matter how rare or desirable she is. This is just an opinion folks, but I guess if you can drop that kind of cash on something like that, more power to you. However, I will never be able to afford anything like that, and even if I had the money, I don't think I would ever purchase her. My conscience would kill me (and so would my bf lol!!!). I guess what it boils down to is this (for me)...if people keep paying such high prices for ponies such as this, they are never going to be affordable for anyone else that can't drop $500+ for a very beautiful, but very expensive pony.

I think it would depend on why someone would want her. I mean is she really that HTF? Rapunzels do seem to keep cropping up on ebay...if I'm honest I am not a fan of her look (just my opinion)so why would you want to own one? My guess is simply because so many other people want to own a Rapunzel and heck if I found one at a carboot (unlikely as Im a UK'er)then I would most certainly do a bit of bragging.

Personally I would spend up to $200 on her because shes sought after...$500 a little steep for my liking. Then again I'd certainly pay $500 for the reverse hair Gusty, so I guess it all depends on what your preference is.

It just bites that her prices are so high...I mean I would LOVE to own her, but I just don't have that kind of money to lay down on 1 single pony. Plus the one on ebay looks kinda raggy, too much for her. Personally I'd like to see her prices in the 200's...that way then I'd have a chance to own her.

You guys aren't helping!

We do really need the money, and since some of our debt came from buying ponies... ...I have been debating on selling my Rapunzel. She is lovely, but I have a custom in the works that I think I would love even more. So, why keep the original if she sells for so much, right?

Around the holidays prices do seem to get better, so if I do sell her...  ...would I be better waiting until later in October to list her? And mine looks good, and has her barrettes! It would hurt a bit to let her go, but $500...that is our house payment and half the utilities! Or at least a nice chunck off a credit card!

Re

Wow! Although I have been collectiong for about 8 years, I didn't know she went quite that high! She has never been exactly what appeals to me, so I have never paid that much attention to her. Although someone has a blue Rapunzel on the customs board that I might pay quite a bit for
