Wondering if anyone else shares my problem. I decide to go thru and sell some of my ponies. They’ve been sitting in a box in a closet for close to 3 years. I sell one or two. And buy 5 or 10! Lol! And this seems to keep happening every time! Please tell me I’m not alone. Is there a cure?

Yes! I recently dug my childhood pony collection out of storage and started cleaning them up to sell, but I'm having so much fun with it that it's actually making me want to collect more ponies! I think I'll miss this when I run out of ponies to fix up and sell, so I want to get more to rescue and re-home lol. I'm also keeping a few of my favorite ponies that it's somehow hard to part with. I've never been a collector, at least not since childhood, but I think I might become one!

Yo don't need to collect all of them to enjoy them. :ponylove:

Oh I definitely don't plan on collecting all of them haha. There are several I don't care for as much that I don't mind parting with. But researching my ponies to sell them has me learning about all the different ponies out there, and I find myself getting my eye on certain ones I wish I had! I was pretty crazy about them as a child, so I guess it's no wonder I still love them.

Me, too! I was just pony crazy. I even got a real one for my ninth birthday! Dogs, and ponies, there's just something wonderful about them. Mlp in particular with all the variety, color, and price ranges always appealed to me.

Wow, I was never lucky enough to get a real pony, but I did love real horses too. MLP is definitely very collectible! When Hasbro stopped making G1 ponies, I actually wrote them a letter basically begging them to make them again. That's how pony crazy I was! I was around 10 at the time. They wrote me back, and I still have their letter! It basically said they were sorry, but they had decided to discontinue the line. And the newer lines of ponies were never the same to me as the originals.

That’s pretty much how I became a collector.

“Oh hey it’s my old ponies! Hey, let’s check to see if any of them are worth anything online.”

“...What do you mean there are HUNDREDS?”

“What do you mean there are FOREIGN VARIANTS?”

“And why do I want to collect lots of ponies now?”

I become hooked when I decided to look into some G3 ponies, and then decided to hunt in the bowels of my parents' basement for my old collection. After memory surfing for a day I found out that my sister sold them without telling anyone for not-very-mentionable stuff.

I was hit with the I MUST GET THESE BACK and started to hunt the ones I can remember having down. I know I had more than what I am looking for but I am definitely on the prowl for the ones that I can distinctly remember. Along the way I've picked a few others up that were not on my initial list, but I can't give them up now! MINE. Except the duplicates. I am rehoming duplicates when I get them.I don't have that much space...

Haha I don’t think there is any cure, you’ll just have to join us all in collecting forever :winkpony:

Oh my goodness, I had to laugh when I saw this thread! I have a box of G3s I needed to sell, and there were a couple of G4s. I have one G4, Sunset Shimmer in my Pony collection cabinet. So I go to eBay to ID and price these ponies, and like whoa!! Totally fell in love with the G4 line. I like to buy in lots, because I feel i get the one pony I wanted for a great price when I sell the rest. I did not realize they had big ones! So here's about a THIRD of the ponies I have bought in the past couple of weeks!! If i don't hurry up and start selling extras, I'm going to be eating ramen noodles for a while!!

It's good to know I'm not the only one who has this problem, haha! Bidding on auctions is super addictive too, isn't it? It's an adrenaline rush! I can't seem to stop buying ponies, so now I have to sell them so I can buy more ponies... A vicious cycle!

Oh yeah. I swear I'm done, then I go back for more. I can't help it. There's something about their softly smiling little equine mugs that I just can't resist. I don't suppose I'll ever stop collecting.
