PONY ENVY... I gots it.

Seriously though, do you guys ever feel Pony Envy? Like, you see someones pony or collection or display and you're just like - *MEELLLTTT DROOOLLLL PUDDLE GRABBYHANDS* Want want want!

I have pony envy very badly when it comes to seeing people having their ponies displayed... I love seeing peoples collections SO much but I envy the display! My collection is all boxed up and I have no shelves and... *WHINE* see here comes the pony envy!

Ahhhh well, just thought I'd get that out and make a thread where we can all post about our pony envy, and get it out! :D

Yeah. Oneleo1 (mod at the arena) lives close to me and we have become friends. She rehaird my Anchors Away and is teaching me how to rehair. I was in her pony room on Sunday and I just wanted to bolt myself to the floor and never leave. She has almost every US MLP release for all gens. And she has gorgeous curio cabinets that put my one metal shelving unit to shame. I've been searching Craigslist all week in hopes that someone is trying to get rid of one.

I have seen another person's collection before in real life and in mlp pony member's pictures. I always feel the same way. However, I try not to look at those photos very often. so I won't be subjected to the green eyed monster.:1431: <---which might look like that monster lol.

Yes! I have pony room envy....

A few years ago at my apartment I had a very small glass display and a closet filled with ponies. I covered the cabinet and had heavy drapes up to protect them from light....
This is what I had unpacked into the closet.

Well, someone I loved dearly in my family was terminally ill, and I made the choice to move asp.... to the other side of the Country.... Bought tickets, I had a month, I went to work, came home, packaged ponies until I fell asleep, got like three hours sleep, woke up, went to work, came home packaged ponies- DID THIS FOR A MONTH.... I didn't trust anyone else with my collection. Barely finished getting all my ponies packed and sent. I figured if this many took a month, I don't want to think about unpacking and repacking the entire collection until we have a house we'll stay put in.

This house is nice, but smaller and out near my fiancee's work, far away from friends and family... :( I'll set up some small displays, but I won't be unpacking the collection yet, not to have to re-pack it again in a few years.. It makes me sad, I have so many things I do love and want to display, and I have my ponyroom all planned, what shelves I'll need, what paint colour I'll have on the walls, what kind of curtains I'll put up, the flooring I want.... It is motivation to not overspend on ponies and sock away $$ for a down-payment on the retirement house we want. LOL. Oh, and ponyroom threads are still my favorites! I do love seeing collections all set up and lining every wall - even if I do turn a little green from time to time. :D

Oooooh, I'm getting pony envy right now from seeing Baby Princess Sparkle down there in FF's post... *grabby hands* :p

Also happens when I see most Europeans on display in people's collections and pony rooms. "GRRRRRR these were right there in stores and kids my age had these but I didn't why why why WHY AUGH" is pretty much what goes through my mind for a split second. ^^;

Other than that, I usually don't give it much thought. I'm pretty sure I'd still need a towel to clean up my drool if I was ever to visit someone's pony room, though (a room... full of ponies? Hah, when will I ever be able to afford that!).

I get envy really bad when I see amazing customs or any of those really huge ponies some people have. :D Have anyone seen that group of custom raincurl babies? Or the set of g3 Merry-Go-Round ponies? Every time I see a picture of those I want to grab them through the screen :p

To make my displays really nice, I ask my mother to go crazy and pretty up the shelves to make them look vintage! She does a fantastic job :D I'll show pictures soon :) but maybe pretty up the shelves, and it'll look lovely? :)

I only collect G4s, but I definitely get pony envy of the way people can fit them nicely as a display. I keep mine out of the box, hate MIB collecting, but it seems they just look crowded and uncoordinated together! Even though I have some very nice ponies!

My collection is on the smaller side, and I like it that way, but for some reason if I see a giant collection I get so jealous! But then when I have a larger collection, I always feel compelled to pare it down. What the heck?

Hahah so true I agree with ALL of you guys... man I need to find some shelving - that is my 'mane' envy problem. I JUST today moved in an old bookshelf that my parents gave me... it has no doors, and it's sitting empty right now because now I'm like - Okay, what do I display here? Do I display my G1s who I'm worried about getting dusty and dirty? Or do I display my G3s who have a much longer 'shelf life' before they start feeling the wear of being on display?

But I am so envious of people who have room enough to store them. Since I have pets - it makes it quite difficult at times to have ponies anywhere but locked inside my small pony room... even now, there's a cat in here sleeping, who would otherwise be scratching and clawing at the door if I hadn't let him in - so sometimes I envy people who don't have animals to destroy their collections (though I'd never give up my animals for my ponies!)

And I always envy Nirvana ponies, especially people who have ones in very nice shape, omg - SO awesome to see them, but it makes me want them for myself!

I got a bad case of pony envy today when I saw brushable DJ PON3 (the only one I would get the box set for) in a magazine. When the blazes will it ever be released as a single???

Only Nirvanas. Regular releases, I know that one day, eventually, I will find that pony and have money to buy it. But Nirvanas are so scarce, and some of them, like Greek babies, so out of my price range unless I were to win the lottery that yeah, I get Pony Envy.
