OMG going to make a pony costume.....
On some of the cosplay.com profile they said they colored white wigs with sharpy marker to get the colors they wanted (i.e. Gusty and Quackers). Has anyone used this technique before?? If I do get to go to Vegas this year for the MLP Fair I would so totally join in and do something like this.
Sharpies? wouldn't have guessed! But looking I can see that Quackers wig was dyed.
I do try to stay away from sharpies. the dye *can* transfer.....
You could sew different colours into the wig, with false extentions etc. Isn't that difficult to modify a wig. (says the girl who's never happy with a store standard) or dye the wig of course.... Wouldn't know which dye would give the best results.
The girls in the photo look fantastic! I really like gusty, quackers and posey. Soo cute.
The girl dressed as Fizzy is adorable as well. Just loved her costume.
I discovered making a dress two years back, that I can sew. and well too.
Also I made and cut my own patterns. (thought the dress patterns at the store were... ugly.) I just inherited a really nice sewing machine, thread, scissors from my grandmother. I never sew, since I never know what to make. So now I have a project, I can give it some use. Now to source some fabrics.
