So, I have a LOT of G3 ponies to sell/trade now.
As fellow collectors do you guys prefer reviving a pony who has been cleaned/disinfected/hair treatments or do you prefer getting as is played condition? I have a hard time selling or trading ponies that I haven’t “taken care of” to other homes but I know occasionally some people prefer them not to be touched. Opinions on this would be greatly appreciated. :)

I also got a beautiful Lily Lightly with her dress (possibly accessories as well but I haven’t gone through the massive bag of those yet), I’m just wondering if anyone knows what she’s been sold for recently? I looked up some stuff on eBay but I feel like a lot of it is inflated.

Also, now that I think of it, has anyone seen high demand for plush & playsets (G1, G3 & G4)? I don’t have space for plush or play sets sadly so I’m going to trade or sell them. Possibly see about taking them to a local women’s shelter too, just not sure what they can take.

Anywhoot, any help is greatly appreciated by me and my sanity. This is going to take me so much time pricing and posting everything I picked up yesterday.

To me, when a seller takes the time and effort to either keep their collection nice, or wash and groom before putting up pictures, that's Special. That's a seller worth buying from again. I always make note of that in their feedback.

I do however, really enjoy a pony spa day and there is something immensely satisfying about cleaning and prettying up a pony. I don't mind doing it, unless its totally gag worthy, like mold or some-such. I'll still do it, but I won't enjoy it.

Still, for the average person who may not feel confident about advanced restoration techniques (ahem me) or is completely clueless about them, which product is gonna be more attractive by sight alone? The one that looks like it clawed its way back up to the land of the living? Or the one who has nice shiny, hair and a clean body?

It all depends on the customer and the condition of the pony too. That's all I'm sayin.

I prefer getting ponies that don't look as if they've been just sitting in mud puddles and have braids in their hair. I like it when sellers take the time and effort to clean and condition the ponies they are selling. But I also don't like when they go too far like those stiff, hairspray curls. Sorry, but YUCK!

I agree. I don't like buying ponies that that are styled. I feel like you pay a premium for that. I, however, don't like buying ponies that need deep cleaning, like cleaning inside, straightening braids, sunfading, or deflocking. Unless it's a super cheap goodwill style lot.

Also, Lily lightly is sadly common. If you do have her accessories, definitely put them with her if you want a decent price. Most g3's will barely sell for $3+ shipping. Even mib rarely go for $10.

@Tak - Thanks!! I will be having a spa day for the ponies as I feel the same way. Also, thanks!! I thought she was cheaper than the $30+ I saw on eBay. I’d hate to “rip” anyone off since I don’t collect G3/3.5 I’m not up on the going rates for them.

I think Lily Lightly goes about 15-20 with her dress doesn't she? If she's got her accessories a bit more? Say $25?

A nib one sold in April for $15+ shipping
