Okay so....I've been waiting to hear about the situation in South Africa. How is that going? Is it safe to ship yet? I've been afraid to ship it out until I hear about the situation.

Also, it appears that I do not have my partner's address. Could EvilBunny or perhaps my partner send me their address( and a red light or green light on the shipping situation..) Thanks so much.

I got my domestic parcel on Monday, which was sent at the beginning of the month. The post office's systems are down half the time, but mail appears to be moving. You can probably risk it now. It may take a while to arrive, depending on if they decide to strike again in January, but some post offices are more reliable than others. I am personally only shipping out on the 5th on January with GlobalMail (they are closed until then so had no choice but to wait).

Furthermore, I apologize if my boxes aren't as fantastic as they could have been. I have been informed by the postal workers (at the last minute) that I am not allowed to export sweets or tea to the USA due to the FDA. :( If I try to chance it, they'll destroy the entire package, so it's better for me to send half a box than no box at all. Therefore I hope you'll be alright with smaller packages, and I will be thinking of you both as I eat your candy. :p

What???? No candy??? That's it, it's time to revolt. Jk no worries. I am supposed to be dieting anyway.

Hm I wonder if they will let me send candy into the country...well I guess it will find out tomorrow when I send it off. Here's hoping for a safe journey.
 
I opted for more fun stuff and no candy, because I had a package to Singapore get confiscated once because I sent my friend some cookies. Hopefully that will see my package safely through customs unless they take offense at something else in there...

It's probably best you eat my candy anyway. I mean, seriously. I could do with less of a butt.
 
Well mine is all ready to go. I tried to take it to the post office only to find they close early on New Year's Eve. Friday I can send it then I guess. Happy new year!

PS should I remove the candy just in case?
 
I shipped mine out yesterday too. I used GlobalMail, so they won't be going through the post office. I hope that improves their chances of getting to you quickly and in one piece. I'm sorry again for the delays, and extra sorry that the packages are so empty now that I had to take stuff out. :( I didn't even get a chance to take a teaser photo after the fact. @Marble Dragon I was going to send you a box of Rooibos, because that tea is only grown here. It would have been special – something you love and something truly South African that only I could send you. But alas, I didn't want to take the chance of them destroying the box.

YAY you got my package! I'm so freaking happy! :D I was beginning to think it got lost even with GlobalMail. I hope evilbunnyfoofoo's box got to her alright.

Thus far still no packages on my end. :( I'm going to prod the local post office maybe today or tomorrow and ask if there's been anything for me and they've just not given me the slip for it. It's happened before. Once at my post office, they didn't give notice and then returned it to sender, and once here my boyfriend had to go and inquire about his parcel. Luckily on the latter occasion he got his mail, even though it was well past 30 days.
 
Last week I got the most incredible swap box from @Marble Dragon! I've been very preoccupied the last few weeks and didn't have the chance to post about it until now. I'll try to post the brag photos a little later today.
