My newest custom, Orion, was a blast to make! She began life as a stained, tail-less Twilight who needed a new lease on life. This time I painted her in a base coat of lavender paint, then put a pink glitter paint over the top (with extra iridescent glitter mixed in). The result was a coat not as smooth as I got on Mai Tai (the tropical pony I shared in an earlier thread) but I think the texture from the glitter is worth the shimmering effect I achieved. Her hair is, once again, Dollar Tree hair, heat styled so it wouldn't stick up in a crazy rocker look. I used the dental floss method again, which I am getting much, much better at. Her symbol is made of little star shaped rhinestones in a pattern approximating the constellation of Orion. My only complaint is that while I seem to be improving with eyeliner for the ponies I do, I always seem to overshoot it and have to give a full line around the eye. It still looks cool, but it's less authentic. I'm no good with brushes, so I use a fine-tipped paint pen. Do the eyes look okay to you guys, or do you think I ought to paint over them and try again?
Also, I'm toying with the idea of selling her on eBay... how much do you think a reasonable asking price is for the level of skill I have shown on this pony? Do you think anyone would buy it?
