I made this pony earlier this month before Katrina was a blip on the radar. New Orleans is a city that is very dear to me, seeing that my family are a bunch of Cajuns. If you never got to see this wonderful place before Katrina struck, you really missed out. I only hope that they can get back on their feet eventually. Anyway, on to the custom.

Greenapplekitty wanted a custom Merry Go Round pony with a saddle with a view of a New Orleans style graveyard. I decided to put crypts on the display side and then on the non-display is the gated entrance to the Laffayette Cemetery #1. The pics of the gated side didn't come out well, so they look pretty muddy. I think she looks much better in person. Greenapplekitty also requested an Ankh as the hoof symbol, and then I also put Ankhs on the neck pieces.

WOW!!! *stares at for a long time* My art teacher would love you. She's a sculpter (so she says) but I'll bet she could NEVER do what you do. So maybe she'd be jealous and hate you. lol
This one really blows my mind. All the detail! Even the lighting in photos of the NDS look like the moon shining down on the graveyard. o_O The only thing I would change would be adding some sort of "girth" under the saddle. Somehow, it looks empty.
But good greif she's well done! Is the magnet on her foot a grey or black also? ;) If not, my suggestion would be to paint it one of those colors to match.

Wow, that is beautifully done. The cemetary mosuleum you did on the saddle is gorgeous.

I hope someday the city will restore itself to its wonder and uniqueness before Katrina.

Wow, you've really outdone yourself this time, Woosie!
I can't believe how incredible the detail is on this one... I'm just floored!

she's incredible 0.0
oohh...I wanted to go to new orleans so much  I hope they get back on their feet soon. The french quarter is supposed to be alright isn't it? Just the new reclaimed bit is the worst, since the leve's broke...

*in awe* she's amazing, all that detail! And I don't think she looks 'muddy' on one side, the colours are fine and convey that 'graveyard' feel well. The points of colour in her mane are a really cool gothic touch.

Perfect pose! Terrific, as usual. Makes me wish I could have seen all the places they showed in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil before the storm :(

two things...

First of all, hugs to you Woosie. I had no idea you were so closely tied to New Orleans. I don't think I've stopped counting those little blessings we all forget ever since I saw those poor people and what little they have left. I don't know how they have the courage they have to find a beginning again.

Second of all, on a lighter note... !!!! HOW DO YOU DO THAT! I think each custom gets better and better, and they started off pretty darn good! (a corset and now a sculpted graveyard, what's next a pony with a bas relief of the Sistine chapel? ) You are hands down the finest apoxyscultress ever!

fantastic!

i dunno how you do it,but keep it up! your customs are somuch fun to look at.

 I like her very much. Respect for what you´ve done
