Companies have started throttling throttling/doing fastlanes due to the net neutrality repeal.

So far I know AT&T has started doing it. So it's starting to happen.

I'm on T-mobile and Century Link if either of them try to switch to fast lanes we're ditching them and are going to try and replace them.

If it turns out all companies do it, we will no longer have internet.

With transactions I'm going to start asking for peoples smiling addresses up front because right I don't know what to expect day-to-day.

But if we end up with no internet I will not be able to do customs anymore since I buy their materials online anyway.

Thank you, Trump administration for royally screwing us over.

Oh that sucks, I never would have noticed where I am, we only have 2 options for Internet in my part of the state and they both already suck! Though to be fair, it beats the slow speeds I grew up with at my parents' house in the middle of nowhere. I'm convinced theirs is so slow, they wouldn't even notice if it was being throttled!

Yeah and I heard the difference with net neutrality being repealed is not do they only slow down your connection to make you pay more, but block you from sites if "they don't like them" if it's from a competitor or which ever arbitrary reason.

Yeah. This net neutrality thing really blows. Especially since the majority voted against it.

I think it will sooner then we think.

I am not really having any problems like this at all. I have to admit though that I really don't know what a fastlane is. I am an old lady now I guess.

Yeah that's the thing

They've never done this before but talked about doing the fsstlanes prior to net neutrality being instated, which was why congress felt the need to establish it.

Net neutrality was to stop Telecom companies from over-charging and over-controlling their services.

I heard Verizon was the main one pushing for fastlanes.... I really think it will be business suicide if any more companies decide to do it.

I'm staying calm about it but keeping a watchful eye.

May do a google search to see if there are any companies that refuse to participate in the fastlanes/throttling.

In California a service called Sonic shot up 50% in customers in December after the net neutrality repeal cause Sonic advertises that they will keep net neutral practices.

Well they certainly figured out a way to make some money.

@LightningSilver-Mana
I use ting for my phone service and they are awesome. It's online only, no contract, and you need to own your phone, but it's compatible with most phones. If you are interested I can send you a referral link that would give us both credit. Ting.com

Also, century link here hasn't changed at this point. They do offer a price for life program now, though, and their fios is great.

Our choices are Comcast, century link, or a hotspot through one of the wireless carriers.

Everything I use is bundled into ATT. I have no idea how to even set up a hot spot. To me hot spot is something a dog gets. Guys I am old I tell you.

Sure thing that sounds like a possible back-up plan.

I'll show it to my husband and see what he thinks

I think today is where they're trying to get 1 more vote to block it nation-wide.
