CONVENTION My Little Pony Fair 2018 Information and News

I actually think this was a good time for them to have the fair. By making it during the summer and tourist season, they ensure more families can go and make a vacation out of it. I can not go to this I don't think. We usually drive to save money, but it is too long in the car for me now. The hotel price I feel is quite reasonable considering where it is and the fact that I have spent quite a bit more per night in Florida that time of year. Hopefully though there will not be any early season storms. Orlando is usually not hit as hard as coastal cities though. I hope everyone has a good time.

From the Fair hostess:

Pony Fair tickets for our 2018 event will be released on February 15th at noon (eastern time zone). We will be offering general admission, premium ticket packages, as well as vendor booths.

Please note that vendor booths are an add-on purchase. You must purchase either a general admission or premium ticket package in conjunction with the vendor booth option. Vendors will be expected to fill out a vendor approval form which will be emailed within two weeks of vendor booth purchase.

All adult and child general admission tickets (excluding senior general admission tickets) will include a special pony figure to be claimed only at the event.

If we reach event capacity during our online sales period, we will not be offering tickets at the door. We fully expect to reach capacity, so please be sure to get your tickets to avoid disappointment.

Additional information about our ticketing options and vendor guidelines, can be found at www.mylittleponycon.com

Tickets will be available through our Eventbrite ticketing system. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pony-fair-2018-tickets-42422424614

I'm so sad that the tickets with the special dinner are already sold out. I guess I could still get in the dinner with the VIP ticket but I don't think I have the budget for that. Oh well...

I'm still very excited!!

I saw the update that the MLP Fair was selling exclusives online before the convention to help make up for the lack of attendees... what changed? Has there been a sudden dip in pony fair attendance for some reason? I hope not, I want to see the Fair continue for years and years!

Me too! I wish I could've gone this year. I was really looking forward to the re-envisioned pony fair, it sounds like it might be going in a new and better direction than it was the past couple years (which I blame totally on Hasbro and not the wonderful pony fair crew). I am going to Orlando for a family vacation in Sept though, so there is no way I could make it there twice in a few months time and believe you me, I tried to get the date for the family thing moved but was veto-ed :(

I am making definite plans to go!! I am so excited, it will be my first con of anything fandom-y, not just ponies.
Seriously considering bringing my Fluttershy plush, just for the lulz. May just do the first day, but the second day sounds more fun (the FIM writer being there Sunday is really getting to be a monkey on my back, but Saturday sounds more doable for us, unfortunately.)

I keep telling myself I will come home with a limited amount of ponies, but who knows? Are prices generally very high at pony con, like eBay? Or are they more like the 10-50 dollar range? I've been after Tex for forever, but not if he's over $25!! :tex:
Thanks!!

Edit: Hope everyone that can't make this years can maybe make next years. :) Always hope!

Edit: Got all tix/reservations needed (Con, transport, hotel). Hooraaaayyyy!! Hopefully if there's a next time, I can do the full 2 days. But, hey, the way we're traveling, Monday traffic doesn't seem ideal.:lolpony::lolpony::satisfied::satisfied::flutter2::flutter2:

My advice is to shop around. This is your very first con ever; that can be overwhelming - ponies EVERYWHERE! Odds are that anything you want will be available from multiple sellers. But if it's something you absolutely must have, snap it up and don't let it get away! Prices are generally fair and true to current online market prices, but you don't have the added cost of shipping. And don't be afraid to haggle a bit. Most of the vendors are easy to work with. Take your Fluttershy. :) A lot of people have a "travel pony." Definitely do the panels or games that you want to do - they're super fun and informative! Have fun!

Thanks much! Yes, I hear any first con can be overwhelming. Good, I can haggle if I want (if I can be brave enough. Fluttershy is my fave for a reason. I have low-level social anxiety/am shy.) Sounds like I'll have lots of fun!

Ticket purchased. It actually feels real now! Last thing I need to do is get my car inspected so I don't get stranded on I-95 before the fair even starts!

just fyi guys the vendor room as no wifi, for those attending outside the usa you will need to look for an alternative

on another note... we do not have long to wait

One week away!!

I'm taking my computer so I can watch ponies on the trip there and back on iTunes. (I have no iPod...yet.) So excited!!

safe travels to those already on the way to Florida

I might make a separate post in the regular forum, but a gal who purchased a FS Fluttershy power pomy and the SDCC orange/red super hero pony dropped something at my booth. Please contact me or come to my booth! :)

Had fun!
I sold some of my collection to attend, including my MIB Jem Llama, I was over it until I saw some beautiful designed pins with him!
Flew in from Texas, I couldn’t get my hotel key until 4pm so literally carried everything with me then bought things!
Was wonderful to meet other G1 collectors, I was shy but excited and got my MIB MO Minty autographed by Bonnie Zacherle and Kirk Hindman!
Thanks so much for the opportunity to gather and enjoy together.
