What is it about?
I decided to make a site for My Little Pony collectors that will have tons of information that is essential for a collector to know, from My Pretty Pony to the new Hub Ponies! It will have checklists, price check, many lists of sites, shows and more!

How can I help?
You can help by sending me pictures, information, checklists, lists of sites, price checks, etc. to this e-mail: mariaandreea92@yahoo.com

List of what I need:

Many of the topics you have requested information on have already been discussed in several topics that members have posted about them over the years. Using the search function at the top of the screen will help you find lots of valuable information for your book :) Good luck with your project!

You're right, but I also need the permission to use info/pics.

Maybe it's easier if you search for the infos you need and then ask the author for permission to use it. Good luck!

This is a big project to take on, I agree that it'd be easier to use websites and the search feature here to find what you need, then ask for permissions. If you don't get permission, you could always ask here again to see if anyone else has what you need. :)

Then that's what I'm going to do. Thanks for the advice!

Should I make it online?

I think it would be cool if this was online. This way it's a quick reference for people who are maybe looking to by something on ebay or make offers on the forums.

I agree this is a major project to take on, good on you for doing it.

There are tons of collectors mannuals/guides already out there, so maybe look at them for reference?

I would love if it was online. There are still a few select MLP info titans available on the interwebz, but generally speaking, the best and the biggest are long gone and will probably stay like that.

Also, if you make it as an actual book not everyone will be able to access it so you'd have a limited audience/sale that way, which is what your funders and publishers would worry the most about. If you start out with a new soon-to-be titan online guide to ponies, keep refining that and working on, then you could actually end up showing that to interested publishers, who'd be able to check on its stats; i.e. visitors daily and such. If you need funds for running the site, well you can always add a PayPal donation service thingy, if you have PayPal :)

Hope that all makes sense :sleepdeprivation:
Good luck.

I have no clue on web page designs and what not, my last go was back in the 90s making angelfire homepages, LOL...

You might need to make an ad/post somewhere on here looking for someone who can give you good advice on web layouts. Or.. change the title of this post and add 'Looking for a web designer' :)

Oh I like that layout, it's very neutral and laid back, no heavy duty pastel colors and such yet it's still really cool looking (and has hot pink stuff in it, yay!) :icon_evil1:

Doing it online would be much easier, you wouldn't have to search for a publisher or deal with editors or money... it'd all be free. That's what I suggest. Much more accessible that way too. :)

I decided that a more simple template would be nice.

Nobody sent anything :(

I would really like dedicated pictures, because I want my site to be special.
