Ok everyone, I need your help. Our son was diagnosed in 2011 with autism, and over the past 3 years both Peter and our family have had, and continue to have many struggles. However we want to share with many his beautiful talent, which is his voice. As my husband put it, " I'm so proud of him! For years we have battled with his autism and to see him sing like this makes it all seem to disappear." Peter has always sung behind the closed doors of our home, until just recently my husband was able to convince him to record some songs for my mothers day gift. I am so proud of him and I want his confidence to soar. We are in the process of uploading his videos to you tube, and what I am asking of all you is to please take a moment to listen and share on your face book page and or twitter. We want Peter to believe in himself, and hopefully seeing all the likes and positive comments will help him soar. I really appreciate anyone who took the time to read this. Here are the links for 2 out of his 12 songs, more to come.

Do he have Aspergers' syndrome?

He Is wonderful. I was diagnose with Asperger's' syndrome. Its something I have lived with and I hope he know its not always easy but if you believe in yourself and have good support you can move mountains.
Way to go.

I love his attention to diction and pronunciation of the words in the music. I can understand every word. Most musicians have a hard time enunciating while singing. He seems to have the same volume through the entire song, I wonder if can sing music that has more dynamics. Does he know how to read music? I bet he could.

He's very good for someone so young. :)

I've posted this on a few of my other forums. In the past they've been more than willing to check out other people's videos, so i know they'll do the same for you.

Your son is very talented, and it's obvious the music brings him great joy. I hope he continues to follow his passions. Asperger's is a difficult thing, but as Ology says, not insurmountable, especially with supportive family. My son has it, and is doing much better more at 20 (esp. with his social skills) than I ever imagined possible when he was younger).

Good luck to you both! Please keep sharing those songs!

I too have Aspergers syndrome

Dancing Butterflies, your son has a beautiful voice! As a professional opera singer, I'm super picky about listening to other voices and I very much enjoyed listening to him. He looks like he's old enough to start taking voice lessons, has he ever tried doing private lessons? I know it is scary to work with an unfamiliar person with something as intimate as your singing voice, but he could really go far with continued, healthy vocal training. He's got great passion that shows clearly through his voice, and I hope he never gives up singing!

Lovely voice, listening brought little tears to me eyes. I agree with much that's already been said. As someone who's struggled with A.S. her whole life, I wish all of you the best -- not easy having it, nor supporting someone who has it.

How wonderful, and how brave of him to be willing to put that out there! i love his voice! am not where i can sign in to youtube but will certainly share on FB for now!

Thank you for all your words of advice and encouragement. We are in the process of getting him a voice coach so we are pretty excited about that. We are definitely going to encourage him to keep going. :)

It is definitely hard and when he sings he is at peace. We never give up and never will. :) I wish you all the best as well. :)

He has such a beautiful, haunting voice in this piece. There's a lovely melancholy quality there, you don't hear professionals emoting like that typically. He's going to do great things, of that I have no doubt.

AS kids tend to be quite talented in one way or another and that you have him willing to share it (as they're also often quite private) is a great thing. This will definitely help him gain more confidence in his interactions, and that will aid him greatly in his social skills.

I just love his passion. :smilepony:

P.S. I love your passion too, Dancing Butterflies. It's a hard road being an Aspie parent, and I so appreciate your dedication to help him grow as a person and an artist. Kudos to you!
