Is dreamvalley accurate? (just making a accessory check)

I have a baby seapony float and Dreamvalley says it's for a watercolour baby called Wavedancer.

Except I'm pretty sure it's from my own childhood collection, and the only watercolour babies we had were Seashore and Sealight.

Is it me or them that is wrong?

The float itself is a yellow lobster with purple accents.

(for bonus points, can anyone identify a stuffed pink toy I found about the size of, say, Ember, that's pink, has a pouch you can fold over onto its back or forward to hold the legs, a long threadish tale with a ball at the end, and plastic arms and legs that can rotate)

Hi Crantz!

I checked my own favorite sea pony reference,
Sea Pony Utopia

This site states that Wavedancer came with that lobster float, so perhaps your watercolor baby sea was simply paired with the wrong float at the factory? Or, is it possible that yours was switched at one point in your childhood?

Also - that little animal with the pouch and the tail is probably one of the mini poseable Popples made. I have a few - they are a little bigger than Care Bear poseables, with a soft body and plastic arms and legs.

thanks! It's probably my memory at fault. And Popple sounds right.

Man. Now I want a wavedancer, she looks lovely.

Sea ponies are so weird. I know that the adults were occasionally sold with different shells so maybe yours was the same way :S

DV isn't that great on accessories from time to time, but it's pretty solid on Sea Pony stuff - or seems to be.

I wonder how many mismatched sets there are out there!

Thank you babyprincessnicole! :)

I have not seen any baby sea ponies with errors made like that, but in general, all of the packaging errors that I have seen have been for UK or Italian ponies. Like the TE ponies being put on UK Pretty & Pearly baby backcards, or Italian adults having the wrong shells. So, it is certainly possible!

If you ever have a float you're trying to ID, I have a page with just the floats pictured, to make it a little easier. Quick Float ID. I have every baby MOC, so the list should be accurate, barring any factory errors of course!

Just as a general thought - I had the wrong Bushwoolie packaged with Princess Serena when I was a child. It does happen. :)

That's cool! I bet it would be confusing, though, looking at the site and trying to think, "Man, did Hasbro really mix them up or am I tripping out?"
Well, I'm sure you've noticed that Hasbro is far from infalliable... so I try not to question my sanity. :D

Yeah, Hasbro's not totally reliable. Mixed up stickers, wrong backcards, I've seen it all! :p

I used to use Dreamvalley all the time but as someone pointed out there are much better places around now.

Yeah, my MOC Meggan and Pony Wear "Country Jamboree" is really "Picnic in the Park" or whatever - wrong backcards EVERYWHERE!!!

I used to use dreamvalley and mlpcollector. But when I started collecting newborn twin accessories, I kept getting lost as they each tended to have not enough info, or totally different info than the other. I only use greatponies.com now. Love that site!
