Photo Hunt Rules

Photo Editing:
~No photo editing of ANY kind!
You can crop, size, adjust lighting and sharpen the photo. Altering the photo is NOT acceptable! No Photoshopping whatsoever! This includes color adjustment, smudging, blurring, adding or subtracting from the photo. You may not CHANGE the photo in any way. Making it ‘prettier’ is ok but do not change the photo into something it never was originally.


Text:
You may NOT add text to a photo or the post entry itself!


Use of Existing Photographs or Images:
No posters, books, pictures or computer images accepted. Your photo must portray the real thing.
Example of not accepted: step requires a tree and you take a picture of a poster with a tree in it.


Photo Requirements: (Please stay with in these requirements.)

• File Type: All photos must be saved in JPG form.
• Size: Do not let the photo be more then 100K, as this kills loading time.

To find out what size your photo is set at:
Right-click on the photo and check its properti
OR
Do File > Open, then click once on photo and look at the bottom of the pop up to see the file size

Pixel size:
The recommended size is around: 500x375. Note: the biggest side being 500. When you save your photo, the pop up gives you the choice as to what size to save the photo at. Please make sure the pixel size is below these numbers.


Time:
You must post your photo before deadline or your step entry will not be accepted.

Content:
No foul language or adult content.



Sneaky points: ½ the entry score.

Sneaky points are given for several reasons, including:
1. At least attempting a step
2. If you tried to wiggle around the requirements
3. If you have not completed the requirements
4. If you have broken any rules

For example, if I ask for a pic with you in it, and you send a pic of just your feet, you will get sneaky points only.



Photo Thread posting:
The ONLY posts accepted within each step/bonus photo threads are photo entries. Please keep comments and explanations to separate threads within the Hunt Forum. These threads need to be kept free of comments to enable easy viewing so the hunters and mods can easily see the entries and not lose track of things. Comments in these threads will be deleted.

Is it alright to do something like taking the photo with the 'vintage look' setting of your camera turned on? Does that count as manipulating the photo or "making it prettier"?

What does the vintage setting do? I would prefer myself that photos are taken on a standard setting but of course it does depend on what the setting does.

A vintage look would be taking the photo in black and white or sepia, among other settings on today's digital cameras.

Well, my camera has settings such as black & white, sepia, color inversion or giving the photo an aged look (with some fading around the edges and a more yellow-ish tone). I think I'll just stick with the basic settings, though.

Okay, thanks ladies. Stick with colour please, keeping in mind that all photos have to be checked for photoshopping (which isn't allowed!) everyones photos just being in standard colour makes that lots easier. If in doubt we do give sneaky points so keep that in mind.
