Howdy! Came here to trade a few blind bags ponies 'cause I collecting them a lot, and have some doubles, and selling ponies is not fun, and trading is fun I guess... but never been able to trade them yet :)
Browsing around a forum I saw a very friendly and nice atmosphere (and unique design style too, with cool colorful ponies :) - may I notice, - something making you want to just return again and again) and wanted to participate in more life than just trading herein. Maybe to make a few friends... friendship is magic, after all ;).

I am 32 years old huge MLP:FiM fan, very fond of romantic shipping, fimfiction and talented pony art. Also a pony stuff collector as you can guess... but it is mostly because those toys is really a symbols of actual MLP ponies to me... you know, to hold in hands even if just a reflection of these characters... it is cool too. Also I was able to tie my life with real ponies (breeding), and they taking so many efforts, but worth every second of it :). If anypony here have some similar passions, or want to chat, or just say hello - I always be glad to here from you. Don't hesitate PM'ing me here or in Skype - really the communication is one of the luxury that can be easily afforded by everypony :).

See ya!

Hi and welcome to the forum^^ I hope you have fun in here ;)
So pony breeding ;) Do you have own stable or what? I'm also into horses in real life (just today got little bit accident while riding.. me and horse, we both did somersault and I did find myself on the ground and horses butt was sitting my lap... :D luckily we all just got little frightened but nobody was hurt).

Hey h1m3! We are neighbors! I have stable and Shetland ponies, yes. But no riding - have no skills myself and these ponies are capable for little kids riding only because of height and weight. I will not refuse a try with a big horse though... If given a chance/mood/company/place to ride to/etc. :)

Somersault, heh... Lucky you both was not hurt! It is slush here now... Is it your own horse? What is him/her breed? Do you own more?

Yay Neighbours ;D I love shetland ponies babies (and ofc adults too ;)) they are so tiny and cute <3. I once tend young shetland stallion. He was pretty wild sometimes.. He would kick the cart if he would not like to pull it anymore (talk about bad manners..). How many ponies you got? Do you have any babies right now :3?

Here is also slush -.- (it could be snow or no snow but this crappy slush could go away). My horse just stumled his own feets... he is little bit front-heavy and if I do not support him and ride with the right way he will get his head too down and then some point he will be having issues with his balance. That's what happened today. He stumbled and could not get his balance back. Also I was leaning too much foward to support him. So we fell and did somersault...
The horse unfortunately is not mine :( I have no money to buy own (they are too expensive to keep :().I can ride with him couple times a week and try to work him in shape ;). My mission is to get his balance back and more strenght in legs! He is warm-blooded but not a trotter. His anatomy is more like saddle horse than a trotter.

Oh I am on the contrary - so accustomed to their size, that bigger horses, even Welsh ponies, seems very big for me. Not scared or anything, just unusual contrast when happen to meet "normal" horse. Quite the contrary to my vet with Shetlands - she always says that all is so tiny :).

He would kick the cart if he would not like to pull it anymore (talk about bad manners..). talk about bad manners..
trick or a treat then :)

Three mares and a 7-month old filly. Her name is Octavia by the way ;).
Actually one mare is not quite Shetland - she is Appaloosa breed (Shetland/Appaloosa interbreed at least), but there is no official proofs, only special color in passport mentioned alas. But she a little highter than average Shetland, being 1m in withers... such a "big" filly, yeah.

Here is also slush -.- (it could be snow or no snow but this crappy slush could go away).
Better to be snow. It is sad without a snow all the winter - last winter here was such. And at your place, huh?

Hmm... I am not capable to understand the nuances of horseriding 'cause never actually tryed it myself and didn't know much of theory also. But your story seems funny to me in the sense like you, human, are teaching a horse how to trot :). But happy that everything went allright today, just take care in future.
How old is he? Do you working him in shape to attend to performances/contests?
And also, you wrote that you tended a Shetland stallion... for how long you are caring for horses in overall?

Hi and welcome! I love real horses but there aren't too many places to ride or see them here in the big city so I rarely get to. That's awesome that you have real pony friends. Enjoy the boards.

Hi and thanx, Marble Dragon! Just a notice: being a big town folk also for the most part of my life, I was surprised to know some time ago, that horses are nearer and more accessible than people tended to think nowdays. All you need is a wish and going to the nearest suburban area. There surely be stables somewhere :).

Greetings and hello's! I am Michelle Lysyk from Calgary, Canada! Cool username! Enjoy our forum!

Welcome Somepony! So glad to have you here on the board! I own Shetlands as well, and one older Shetland/Welsh mix. They're such cute little monsters, but feisty. And bitey. Mine are anyhoo, they love the occasional taste of flesh! LOL!

I'd love to see your babies one day!

Octavia <3 Cute name^^.
Oh I love if the horse/pony has colorful appaloosa colors! They are so unique ;). She is "big" girl ;).

Yep, last years Christmas we didn't have snow at all (in south, I guess that in north there was and there is now snow too). Think about it no snow in Finland. Thats puts us in shame :D. Everybody thinks that Finland is the coldest place on earth and we didn't even have snow.. ;D

How old is he? Do you working him in shape to attend to performances/contests?

He is born in -03 so now he is 11 years old. When he came he was very scared and riding was not option. Everything have to started from the ground (I wasn't the one who teached him that time) and he is still in progress .
I'm not going to attend any contest I just want to work him to get him in shape :). I'm no racer person, I just like to work with horses in free time :).

And also, you wrote that you tended a Shetland stallion... for how long you are caring for horses in overall?

The shetland stallion I cared for about half a year I think... I was tending one bigger horse at the same time in that stable so I wanted also take care of the stallion. No one would care him that much so I would take him out to get some exercise.
Sometimes I tend one horse for a year or less/more. That all depends on it's owners and my situation like how long the owners needs my help, do I have the time etc.
Overall I have ride/tend horses allmost all of my life.. I started riding when I was 5 years old in our local riding school. It would be dream come true to have my own horse.. maybe someday ;)

Hello and welcome!

I came here originally with only blind bag ponies myself and now have a nice little collection of nearly 200 from the 80s to today! It really takes a hold of you if you let the collecting start. ;) I think you will really enjoy it here--everyone is so kind and thoughtful--it's as close to Equestria as we're going to get I think!

autumn rose, hey there! :)

evilbunnyfoofoo, Shetland/Welsh mix... interesting. Do you have her photos? Also, if you want to see mine, I will be glad to post photos too.

How many ponies do you have? Also your own stables, right?

Regarding bitey: yeah, I heard of those habit of Shetlands, but surprisingly enough mine totally don't bite. Even filly learned to know the reciprocal grooming measure really fast. I mean, yes, they can take your fingers in mouth and slightly chew, only if you deliberately poke your hand inside :), but almost always know the measure. Only Appaloosa mare had this habit when she arrived, but at one moment she just stopped it entirely (without efforts from my side to wean her). I guess that biting is their way to say that something is wrong and especially not comfortable to them. Once she had a territory to run when she wants to, she became noticably calmer. It is just my own observations so far. Maybe we get accustomed to eachother too.

h1m3, yeah, snow and New Year holidays are just another Finland brand to us Russians :). Last winter was just weird. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Now I see about your horse and experience. Good luck with your stallion! Guess you can teach me a thing or two, 'cause I caring for ponies for about a year only. So much to learn yet!

Kallile, hi! Yeah, collecting is something can really take a hold of you. I had collected some other things through my life. The most recent are old microprocessors and vintage computers. There is the usual collector's catch though "collect everything, regardless, etc." - and sometimes they can forget the real reason why they collect these or those particular items. That was the case then - I forget the real fun :). Don't want this ever happen with ponies.

As for me, now I have about 250 290 (just recieved the full Wave 11 and Pony Friends Forever haha) BB figurines and one part of my brain understand that it is a litte too much... but other part totally disagree LOL :) Also I find some "perverted" :) pleasure in arranging info for all known figurines, making a special Excel database for them, etc. Helps to pass the evenings occasionally, and that is a plus, I guess...

it's as close to Equestria as we're going to get
heh...
