Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 35 and I live in Massachusetts. When I was little I had a smallish herd of 14 adult G1s and 2 or three babies (if I recall correctly) though it's funny -- I've been trying to remember who I had. For certain I had Bluebell, Firefly, Sprinkles and Moondancer, but mostly it seems I can find my sister's old ponies! Peachy, Medley, Glory, Majesty, Baby Surprise, Confetti.... Pretty sure she had a Flutter pony (not sure which one). Unfortunately I'm 99% sure that our ponies were tossed or given away after one move or another (Navy brats, you know...) so my childhood ponies are long gone.

I happened to come across a G3 Candy Apple for 50 cents at a thrift store last month and suddenly I've been hooked back in. I'm primarily into G1. (Okay, I think G4 ponies just look awful. That's me. More for everybody else, right?) I've picked up a few G1 ponies now, with an eye towards rebuilding the old herd, though I've been getting baity lots (it's what I can afford!) and doing what I can towards restoration. I've got Moondancer again (she's a bit yellow, but otherwise very nice) -- Two Medleys and two Fireflies! And a Sprinkles. And a MM Windy that I totally messed up -- soaking in vinegar does nicely for tail rust and works well on regular ponies, but her magic message was sort of messed up already and both her hip marks lifted up and came off in the vinegar. Oops. She has age spots, too, I think. And a few others. I should do an inventory and todo list for each at some point. I'd forgotten how calming washing ponies and styling their hair is.

Reading the forums has been really useful for me, and I'm excited to be able to see the pictures now! I'm grateful y'all are here. Thanks!

Hello & Welcome :D Hope you are having fun re-building your G1 collection :D

Welcome aboard, luv!

It seems so many of us suffered big losses during our childhoods. I suppose it's only natural our mums clear out our toys to make way for new ones, but I've always mourned the ones that got sent away. Funny, ones I fancied disappeared, others I didn't care for stayed. Who knows what evil lurked in my mom's mind when she did tidy up patrol. LOL

Good luck in rebuilding your herd. Finding abandonded Ponies and giving them a new lease is so fun! You're going to have a blast.

Welcome to the TP! My mom sent most of mine to goodwill and I think some ended up in a garage sale so I'm rebuilding my collection now too. The thrill of the hunt sure is addicting! Have fun!

Hello and welcome ^^ Too bad that you and your sisters ponies were given away, but cool you are slowly getting them back =) Hope you have tons of luck finding awesome deals, you've already made one, very cheap for a nice pony.

Hope you will share pictures of your growing herd, love to see pictures.
Take care and have fun! :satisfied:
