Help with bait pony!

I have a bait g1 Starshine. Her body is completely yellowed, her symbols are faded and rusty, her hair is rather matted, she has a name bled into her plastic in black marker on her belly, and she is missing the pink section of her mane. The poor girl

I want to make a custom out of her, or have someone do something with her if I mail her to them... but I don't have any money at the moment, and I'm not sure when or if I can get a job for a while.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do with this poor Starshine?

Hmm. A good cleaning first. A full body repaint may be a good start. You can see if anyone is willing to trade you some hair for something they may need. Not sure how she reacts to sun fading.

What color do you want her?

Do you want to replace the pink strip with another pink strip? Or a different color entirely?

I read that US Starshine reacts very badly to sunfading, turning her an ugly brown rather than fading her color. That's not an option, sadly.

I'm not sure what I want, I have very little experience with painting, I'm afraid I'd just make her uglier... I feel I should hand her to a professional to restore or customise, though I don't have a way to pay anyone for the job. I could definitely trade someone things I have for their services, perhaps. It'd cost much less to mail something than for a custom, which is usually very expensive.

Given that she's in a proud pegasus pose, I feel she should be some bright colors, I'm not sure what though. My OC, Diamond Dust, doesn't fit the pose in my opinion.

I do have a spare dark pink tail with Tinsal.
The cutie mark just can't be too complicated.

I appreciate your offer, but I would prefer if I could only have to mail my Starshine to one person who can do everything, rather than to multiple people who can only do one thing, because of my lack of funds. I hope I didn't offend you, your panting is great! I would just prefer if someone can do everything.

I have to send my pony to @kittensquid to rehair for me I just can rehair well. She awsome.
It's fine if you change your mind my offer of a free paint remains.

If it would help I mail her back to you for free. Painting helps me with my depression and it very enjoyable to help others.

I'd only charge $25 for a hair and paint commission ($5 shipping if u.s. resident) for a hair and paint custom, if you managed to scrounge that up, I could do all the custom things.

I appreciate your offer, but I have no way to pay for anything right now, money is very tight for me as well, since I don't have a job or any way to get money... I really wish I could help you and pay you for your marvelous work. I apologize

Sounds like a challenge. I live in Australia so not sure how much postage would be but if you cover postage I would be willing to have a crack at either restoring or customising your Starshine. My only catch is that I work full time so it would be a slow process, if you don't mind then maybe we can work out what to do with your pony?

I'd be happy to do what I can for her top to bottom.
I can fully restore her with a full body paint and a rehair.
I'm sure I have everything I would need to get her done without spending a dime. Just my time.
