Hi all!

I am new here. I've posted about some auctions I've had on ebay, but every time I tried to post an introduction, it would tell me that I couldn't.

I'm Melo05reading. Melo for short. I grew up in the 80s and love mlp G1. My favorite pony that I owned was the baby Pegasus Yo-Yo. I got her when I had my tonsils out. I still have her and a dozen or so other ponies.

I am auctioning off ponies on ebay because I was able to find a large number that were in very nice condition for a good price. I pulled out the ones that I always wanted as a kid and never had (Lemon Drop. I know, not a rare pony, but I never had her, and now I do!) and I let my nieces and nephews select a few they really wanted. Most of the rest I'm cleaning up and selling.

I don't classify myself as a serious collector of mlp G1, and the ponies I found are so beautiful that I want them to go to collectors who will treasure them. I collect books, and I know how excited I am when I find a book I've been looking for, and I hope that collectors are excited when they see a pony I'm selling that they've been looking for.

There's still a day on my auction (it's listed on the auction board here) and about 15 or 20 ponies listed. I might be posting more in the future. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to relist ones that haven't sold or list more from the stash I found. I guess it depends on how crazy work goes (just started training for a new job. Yay!)

I just wanted to say hello to everyone here, and ask a question:

What was your favorite pony you had as a child and do you still have that pony today?

As a young teen, my brother Ken gave me a beautiful G1 Minty. I absolutely adored her and many followed. Sadly she had been put in a tub with about 200 other Ponies while I did some remodeling and some massive jerk stole the tub (and about ten comic long boxes, a third of my collection) from the shed. They busted the lock and robbed me blind. I'm still terribly sad about the whole thing. My brother Ken died three years ago, and Minty was my favourite thing he gave me. I would've given them every Pony i have, as well as all the comics, just to have her back. I never replaced her. I don't even like to think about it, and admit I am teary just thinking of her and Ken. Still though, chin up, mustn't grumble. Minty is somewhere wonderful, keeping a child happy maybe. Or she's fighting in the Justice League or off in heaven with Ken. They're probably riding around on his Harley now, being flat out awesome.


(I know the joy of finding books you speak of though. I'm a huge book fiend and just found a stash of old 60s sci fi pulp for dirt cheap at Goodwill this weekend and embarrassed my family dancing like a loon in triumph. :LOL:)

My fave growing up was Gusty, I wish I still had her and the rest of my childhood herd. I have no idea what my mom did with them. :(

My favorite pony is Melody. She is one of my childhood ponies and she is still in mint condition because I treasured her so much :). also Fizzy is cool :p I do not own her (yet) but I loved her in the my little pony: the movie. She got some awesome colors^^

What kind of books do you collect?
 
I collect lots and lots of books. Mysteries (I love Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew), Star Trek, Star Wars, Science Fiction, Fantasy. I love journals and diaries. And I also have a large collection of cook books. :)
