I wandered over here from the Arena, because I'm currently building my first collection ever and, even when I'm not buying, I adore window shopping. I'll probably be a bit of a wallflower at first as I observe how this particular forum works and try to learn the controls, but I figured I might as well leave my hoofprint and say "Hi!" ^___^

A bit about me:

As a child, I was never allowed to own ponies, but I did get to play with them whenever I visited a friend who had them. Remembering the style of the early G1s, I gravitated towards the G3s when I got to college. Now that I'm on my own and able to purchase whatever my heart desires (provided the budget doesn't crack), I find that I still have an affection for G3s and G1s, predominately, with a soft spot for a few G2s and G4s as well. Sweetie Belle was love at first sight and has remained so ever since! I'm also a somewhat obsessive Whovian, so Dr. Whooves is right up my alley, too.

My absolute favourite thing about collecting is find some poor pony in dire need of a clean up and taking her to my Pony Salon to find the beauty that's buried beneath dirt, tangles, and rust. Oddly, those tend to become the ponies I love the most.

See ya around!

Greetings and hello's! I am Michelle from Calgary, Canada! Take care and enjoy!

Hello and welcome! :smilepony: I am sorry you weren't allowed to have ponies as a kid, good you can make up for that now. How many ponies of each generation do you have? And dont forget to share pictures, love seeing other people's herds! How nice that you "save" ponies, maybe because you spend so much time getting them to shine makes you like them all the better =)

Take care and see you around :satisfied:

Oh, yes. I'm sure the time and effort I put into restoring ponies is one of the big reasons I love them so much. It just surprised me, though, that ponies I never particularly wanted would become some of my favourites just because I cleaned them up. lol

As for my collection, I'll start with G2. I don't have any yet. XD
I have maybe 5 or 6 from G1.
I think I have only 2 brushable G4s as well as about 20 of the blind bag minis.
And I've lost count of how many G3s I have. Maybe 50? I really don't know anymore! XD When I find space for them all on my shelf, I'll do a count and take pictures. PROMISE! Because I have cool plans for my shelf!

Hehe, it works out funny at times who turns out to be your favourite's ^^
Nice you like all generations, seems most like G1's and G4's. Lucky you have shelvesfor those lovley ponies of yours on display=) My walls are too wonky to put any up sadly.
Sounds like you'll be busy for the next days with ponies and painting, nice projects :smilepony:

I'm mostly a window shopper myself, as well, on account of having no source of income at the moment. Welcome, Dorothy! :smilepony:

Welcome to the board! Count me in as one who loves to get a grimey ol' Pony and restore her to her former glory. And if I can't... what the heck, I'm not exactly perfection myself. All Ponies are welcome in my herd!

Hello! *waves* And thank you!

Oh yes! Several of the ponies I've restored still need work, but I'm not confident enough to repair paint or rehair ponies yet. I keep them anyhow, though. Only a very few will ever likely be "upgraded", and there are even some, like my Desert Rose, that I prefer NOT to be factory perfect. I like her much better with faded hair.

Hi there! That's so sad you weren't allowed to have any ponies growing up, but at least you can still get them now and enjoy them even more! ^-^

I didn't have many ponies as a kid, but I remember having friends who had Flutter Ponies and Twinkle Eye ponies! They were so exotic to me, so I had such a great time going over to their houses to play with them. :)
