I'm bringing it up again, because it never got done, lol. We were going to make one and send it about the time that the G3s first came out, but with my wedding coming up, and our computer going down, etc.... it just never materialized. But it would still be neat to do, and Hasbro would get a little encouragement for all their efforts to keep us complaining collectors happy.

What it was, was a box (really?) - a box full of 'stuff' from us collectors expressing our thanks. Actually, we were going to have one card signed by us all (who wanted to be involved), and then sent along with artwork, letters, and other things that anyone wishes to send to them. The thank you was for bringing back MLP, but it can now be for that, and for appeasing us the best way they can. :D Despite all of our complaints, etc., we can still let them know we are happy with their efforts thus far, and we appreciate their acknowledgement of us as collectors.

It will work like a swapbox - there will be a list of pple for it to go to, and whoever has it will send it to the next person on the list (most likely, I will have the only list of addresses, and everyone will get one address - this will be the person they are to send the box to when they are finished). It was mentioned that it would probably be best if pple sent their artwork and things they do not wish to get lost, in case of the box getting off track or whatnot, directly to me to keep until the box comes back here to be sent off altogether to Hasbro.

I already have a card, and it has some signatures on it from the Southern Indiana Pony Meet in spring 2003 (you know who you are, so you need not sign up for the box, unless there is something extra you wish to add, and don't want to send it directly to me for whatever reason).

Please post here or PM me if you are interested. This is not neccessarily to sign up, so if you're unsure, don't worry about it - I will make a seperate post for sign-up, this is merely a post to express interest and give suggestions. I will not make a list out until I have all the names of the parties interested. (If you are absent from the TP between now and the deadline for sign-up, exceptions can be made, of course.) I will not have the list in order of response, but in order of country and possibly state, so it will go faster.

This is international - although it may be nice to have one card from every country (or at least countries close together). That would also make it go faster - let me know what you think in this department.

Ok - interested? Have suggestions? Post away!

That'd be fine, really - whatever way we want to do it. It would just be nice to have a card (or few) hanging on a bulletin board at Hasbro Inc. from MLP collectors world-wide... *Dreamy look* .... But it's not neccessary, really, lol.

re:

I think it's a spectacular idea. I'm in no matter what way you all decide to do it. I'm not opposed to the idea of the box jumping from one place to another, I think that's actually kind of cool. I also think that the scapbook idea is pretty neat, and I was thinking that maybe we could add a scapbook to the box, and whoever has talent in that area can just add a page to it, whereas others can do the card or whatever. I think it would also be cool for people to see, as it goes along, what other collectors so far have added so they can get ideas for themselves.

Just my two cents. :)

This sounds like a fantastic idea! The day I received my Frilly I called the points program to thank them for her and the guy I talked to seemed really surprised that I wasn't calling to complain. I would love to participate in this, sign me up! Hasbro will either think that we all are really sweet, or really crazy, lol. Oh, I should send photos of my pony room, hehe.

I like this idea!

I'm more in favor of sending our contributions to one person than shipping it around. The scrapbook is a great idea. You could specify the page dimensions and we could each prepare our own page and send it to you.

Hi there,

This sounds like fun! I may be able to participate, I guess I'll just have to play it by ear. ;)

hi

Hi

I am in too! Sounds like fun, I too, think it would be safer to just send whatever you like to one person to mail off, maybe before everything is shipped someone can show off what everyone sent in, or the person who made the page can post it and show it off, I would love to see everyones stuff, but wouldn't want to be held responsible if it gets lost in the mail or somehow ruined.

Thank you, Kat[/b]

I agree with not shipping the full box around. Shipping it a lot. :/ I think we should send our stuff to one person, then send the card around (in like a padded envelope) since its just a card, and everyone can handle less than $1 shipping. Maybe there can be a set size in the scapbook, so that we can either get our own scapbook pages and send them, or you send a scrapbook page to each person, and they send it back. Personally, I think if each person was responsible for their own materials, it would save on confusion and shipping costs.

I love the ide of sending them a custom to be hired XD

Ok - so far, the scrapbook idea sounds like the favorite - I think it's a GREAT idea! :D SS and Baby Boomba have agreed we can make a sticky post of this so the info will be readily available, so lets get this together by early next week, if possible, and I'll get the post ready, so we can start sign-ups and get this thing rolling (finally, lol).

Shipping just the card around by itself and having everything else sent to me is precisely what I was saying - guess I just didn't make myself very clear, lol. I will send everyone signed-up my addy, and one other - mine for the scrapbook page, and the other will be the person next in line for the card. :)

As far as seeing pple's ideas, I would like to post the entire thing on my webpage - basically make an entire space for it, so everyone can see it. :) So you can either scan it yourself (you can do that and show it off here, of course), for the site, or I can scan it when I recieve it (may be best, so they'll be the same size, etc.) And adding your name and addy (make sure you also put your TP alias!) to your page would be fine, but entirely up to you. :)

We have a few more decisions to make:
Cards - we have several options:
#1 - One card gets passed around to everyone (this would take a very long time, lol)
#2 - One card per country (or 'area' - places relatively close)
#3 - Cards done by different meets - this would also take a long time, because there have already been meets this year, so we'd have to wait till this time next year and then there'd be other meets... Maybe meets between here and the deadline can make their own extra card or scrapbook page, or something, if they so wish. *Shrug*

Dimensions of Scrapbook pages - I want to do it as standard as possible, so no one has to search for ever trying to find the right size. I will do some looking at Wal-Mart early next week before the sticky post is made with all the info. Input welcome.

Meets could all get a box together w/ their pre-made (or made there, whatever they wish) individual scrapbook pages and page or card for the meet, if they wish, and all pitch in on shipping (cheap way to get it all to me, and everyone at the meet can see each other's ideas). :)

I can't think of anything else in particular right now, so if anyone else can, please say so! :)

Aj- i loved the idea, but i would like to point out that swap boxes, so very often go missing and due to no fault of the sender sometimes, perhaps instead of one card signed by all it would be best to have one card sent to 5-10 people?then another card sent to another 5-10? that way if you loose one card you've only got a few people who need to re sign, you're not lost in the dark, and postage is MUCH cheaper all around. I can help you set it up if you like :) it's horrible trying to keep track of swaps that many people are involved with by your lonesome :) just give me a PM if you're interested :)

That's not a bad idea. Perhaps we can do it by state in the US (except, maybe, we may need more than one in states with many members), and by number/closeness internationally. I will PM you sometime soon, ok? :) Thanks, hon'.

noooo problemo darlin'!

I would love to take part!

I am also a member of a Duran Duran forum and they took a card from all the fans to the last show for the band. Instead of getting everyone to sign it they had it filled with everyones sigs which looked really effective.

Knowing how rubbish the postal service can be this might be a good alternative and I could imagine the card loking really cool with all our personas in it.

Love

You mean when you send it to me, you're hoping I won't trash it? Or they won't get trashed in the mail? Or Hasbro? Lol. I can provide references on my part. :D

As far as filling it w/ sigs go - I just think that is so impersonal. :\
