Hello! I just joined this group :)

I'm an unashamed child of the 80's in the USA. I've moved to the UK and I'm starting a mid-life crisis and want my MLPs. (My mother sold em all off in a garage sale after I left.. but they were in pretty poor condition, admittedly!)

I remember my first few ponies as being (in no particular order!)

Melody
Twilight
Galaxy (whose hair instantly went into 'Superfrizz' mode
Baby cotton candy
Baby cuddles

And a baby unicorn - majesty I think?

I've bought a couple of MLP-related bits and pieces in the last 15 years - including a snuzzles, a vintage MLP board game (which some of the pieces still aren't punched out!), and a couple of UK MLP annuals.

I've just reignighted my <3 of MLP by buying a few G1 ponies on Amazon.co.uk (yes, really!) and waiting for them to arrive.. :)

I have a few bait MLP when I tried my hands at customs back when, but rehairing was just plain painful, so I never quite finished. I do have some boxed MLP that I should perhaps dig out and see what ones they are.. Photos to come soon.

I just wish Hasbro would bring back the classics. The stretched G2's don't do anything for me, and the anime ponies of today are just too 'cute'.. (no offense to those that love G2-4).

Hi and welcome to the forum! :winkpony:

If longing for your childhood ponies is having a midlife crisis, then I'm probably having one too – and I'm not even 30 yet! But I don't care!

I love ponies of every gen, but they're not for everyone. Like my boyfriend, he only really likes G2s, and he doesn't like G1 or G3 at all. But then he never had them when he was little, obviously, so the nostalgia factor doesn't apply! I used to dislike G2 and G4 at first, but after getting a few of them I fell in love. They're now the first two gens that I hope to get full collections of. I got my first G4 in February as an impulse buy. I now have over 20 G4s (9 of them doubles), with 6-7 more on the way, plus about 14 still on my wishlist after that!

You should give them a chance, you may be pleasantly surprised!

I'm 35 LadyoftheNight, so mid-life crisis definately counts! I just wish that I had access to the USA's garage sales.. we don't have anything at all remotely like that in the uk, except for Charity shops, and tbh they are NOT the same by any ways or means.

Must admit, not a fan of the G2, 3 or 4.. but I will take heed of your advice and pick up a G4 or two.. who knows, it might be the start of something beautiful.

I think that some of my MLP that I have in the original boxes are G3 - I bought them deliberately to be made into customs.. but never got that far, so they are tucked away somewhere upstairs.

Thank you for making me feel very welcome!

Hello an dwelcome :) I hope you have fun in here :) I too like more g1 ponies than rest of the generations (melody is the best <3)
I'm pretty sure you can find lot of mlp in the uk too :p so don't give up too easily ;) happy pony hunting!

Hi and welcome. I know exactly what you mean. I'm not 35 yet, but I do miss a lot of the stuff from when I was little. Good luck with your search.

I'm 28 this year, so maybe I'm just starting midlife early.

I know exactly what you mean. I live in South Africa, and we used to have jumble sales here, but I haven't seen one since I was a child. I think it's probably due to the crime rate... There also aren't a lot of independent thrift or charity shops, just two chains of pawnbrokers, and I never see ponies there. They used to be abundant, I don't know what's happened to them over the last 18-20 years... Perhaps they all got donated to orphanages.

I hope you enjoy your stay here! :winkpony:

Hullo and welcom eto the board! Stick around and we'll infect you with Pony Virus so bad you'll love all the gens, even the dreaded G3.5s!
