There's a store here in Chicago called Quake that sells old toys and aciton figures for the most part. The owner knows I'm into ponies, so whenever he finds some, he picks them up and runs 'em past me. Generally, he charges me $3 each for the halfway decent to mint ponies and $1 each for the baity ones.

I went there today and basically saw the same ponies I already have that aren't quite worth the time to clean them up and sell them on ebay or baity ponies that I can't really customize (those with 3-D symbols for example).

So I bought a Baby Hearts and Dots to clean, a Peek A Boo baby Sweet Stuff, a a decent Cherry Treats, and three baity ponies (A newborn Dibble, FT Lickety Split, and Waverunner). Then the guy who owns it says he has one more that he'd forgotten to put out. So he brings out this pony and I barely can contain a squeal.

She's dirty and has a fews spots of discolouration... but she is a lovely Night Glider!

Here's her "before" picture. All I've done is comb her hair out.

I'll post an "after" picture once she's dry from her bath.

Here's her "after" pics. I pointed out the remaining flaws, which are so slight they may as well not be there.

I'm so psyched that most of her marks cames off!

Wow. congrats. She clean up very nice. Did you only have to pay 3 dollars for her also?

Wow, congrats! She's my absolute favorite pony, hehe. I kept mine on the table next to my bed for the longest time. ^____^

I'd say, that was a great find fo a second hand store!
She usually costs a fortune. Congrats! =)

For me, the $30 some odd dollars she normally goes for is a fortune since I live hand to mouth, paycheck to paycheck. I've taken to selling stuff I don't nedd/don't want on ebay to fund my pony-hunting. I've also been selling pretty much every custom I make. I just usually can't rationalize spending more than 10 or 15 on a single pony. Pretty much the only way I'll get rarer ponies like her is by finding them at Quake or hidden in lots on ebay.

My ultimate dream is to walk into Quake and find a supposedly baity Mimic that cleans up to NM/Mint. But I think that, as little as the guy knows about ponies, he'd prolly know Mimic, since near everyone does.
