It's that time of year again!

You all know how much I love to cook and I'm always on the hunt for new yummy recipes to try. Several years ago I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have a recipe box/book with shared recipes from members from here and thus, Gingerbread's annual recipe exchange was born, going on year 11!

So are you ready to sign up!

Here's how it goes:

~ Everyone who signed up would be responsible for doing at least 2 recipes. You will have to send your 2 recipes to all the other members who participate. Just keep in mind if we have 10 participants that'll be 20 recipe cards you have to do. *But it'll be worth it when you get all your lovely cards!

~ Recipes must be done on recipe cards or recipe card sized paper. For example if you wanted to do yours on the computer that'd be ok as long as you cut them to card size, about 4x6 inch seems to be the standard.

~ I encourage people to embellish their recipe cards, maybe with stickers, pictures, bust out those glitter pens, we like pretty pony recipe cards! Do whatever you like to make your cards as unique and wonderful as you!

~ When you title your recipe put your member name on it. For example I could call mine; "Gingerbread's Italian Creme Cake", that way everyone would remember which cards came from who.

I made a pony themed binder for my cards. But a card box would be a cute idea too. It's not required but I think it'd be fun for everybody to post a picture of their pony recipe box/book when they're done. It'd be like having a useful scrapbook of all your pony friends.

Here's a pic of mine...

Important Dates!!

Sign-ups will be until Sat., June 6th

You will receive participant's addresses by Sun., June 7th

Cards will need to be mailed out no later than Sat., June 27th

I've given 3 weeks to make and ship cards cause I know circumstances are different this year for the whole world. However, this seemed like a easier swap to do at the moment since it doesn't call for as much purchasing or expensive shipping. If for any reason your cards will be late getting mailed please message me so at least I know and don't think you've dropped out.

If you are interested in joining message me your address by the sign-up deadline. Requirements are that you must have been a member here for at least 2 months or have accumulated some positive feedback for me to consider. This is a good opportunity for some newer members who haven't accumulated any feedback yet to have a chance to earn some for future swaps and trades. If you have any questions about being eligible to participate feel free to message me. I may consider Arena or eBay feedback for newer members.

Also, please let me know if you have any particular allergies to certain foods. It's not required that all participant's recipes take these into account but it would be the nice pony-thing to do. Please at least include some of your recipes that all participants could use. I will note next to each person's name any allergies.

I look forward to seeing everyone's cards! The ones we exchanged in previous swaps were lovely and I can't wait to do this again.

I've gotten better at substituting, too. I lost a pant size. No idea of weight since I don't own a scale, but my clothes fit again.

@Tak - sadly I have gained a pant size during isolation. :( BUT on the good news, one of my friends is going to go on hikes with me starting this week so I can have someone to be accountable to. <3 Hoorah for healthy fit friends who live near me.

@Gingerbread - sorry, I couldn’t remember if you sent that along too or not. :( I’ve not been having a great time with memory lately. Also, I now remember what I forgot to look for at the dollar store today - a binder and photo holders. Geeze.

I've only lost weight due to angry kidneys.

I'm guessing single sided cards are best for most? I have most of mine double sided. (They're also splattered, grease on the treat recipes, some are saucy, etc, )

I have no preference single vs double side, my binder is full of both.
