Folter - Collaborated Custom

Well, I used to not do customs, they were too bothersome to do, but now that I find that I have time to hair in school and get a little bit of use out of my airbrush, I've been doing alot more. <3 But this one here is my favorite. He was a custom designed by my best friend Mk, and I brought Folter to life. Folter is a male, but I don't really like or have the know how to bake ponies, I left the furry feet off.

Folter's primer, base coat red, and the splatter black were all airbrushed onto him, while I painted the stripes on his neck and back. Plus the white on his head. For the black on the stripes and the eyeliner and designs I used a Sakura 03 or 05 inking pen, because I know it to work great on this type of paint. I've used it to patch up black spots in the last custom, Satan, I made. Very nice pens. Anyway, since the red coat is airbrushed on, it's very smooth, but it's a flat paint so he doesn't shimmer. (Yes, I do have shimmery colors) which works out for me since Folter is a dark pony. Since I painted the face, you can see the brush strokes. I didn't know how to mask the body (and was too lazy to try xD).

Anyway, he is haired with hair from Restoredoll.com, Caddy Red 29 and CM Midnight 1 <3 I love that hair, so soft. Anyway, if you look at the concept painting, you can see I took some artistic liberties with the hair, making more sense out of it. The red only comes out of the white.

Over and all, this custom is a personal favorite of mine. He's so pretty in person and I love him to death and I feel connected with him, since I am going through a bad patch in my life, and looking at him makes me quite happy. He's all my hate, anger, and sadness put into one form. Unfortunatly, he'll be going to live with his new owner, his designer, and I'll be alone with only pictures. But I'm planning on doing another like him, only this time it'll be a her and the name will be Vergnügen.

If you don't know, Folter is German for Torture and Vergnügen is German for Pleasure. Kinda makes me wanna do a 7 deadly sins series of ponies xD Right now I'll just focus on Khronos xD

Wow, I am so blown away by him! The stripes on his back look like a mirror silver, I had to look thrice before I saw it was just black and white. Amazing job! I'm sorry you have to give him up :( Maybe if the new owner lives in the same country, he/she could send him back to you on loan periodically. If you do Pleasure, and dont have an idea for her yet, you should do a similar marking theme, only orangey-pinks instead of red.
Simply stunning! He does look rather fierce *sees Folter coming and ducks behind a sunflower*
 
Actually, Folter here is going to my best buddy who I see alot ^_^ She's the one who designed him and all that good stuff, so she'll be designing Vergnügen also, but I'm thinking it might be in blues and blacks. -shrugh- She said she was going to come up with the design last night at the station, but I haven't talked to her to see if she had x3 Thanks though!
 
I like him very much. I have been wanting to do splatter paint on a pony but couldn't imagine what it would look like... I think it's fantastic! I can't wait to get the perfect bait and get to work on her.
 
Actually, I know if you don't have an airbrush (mine's actually messing up, that's why it looks kinda clumpy in some places) I know that a nice compresser and a paintbrush will do. Just put the paint on a big brush, mask the area you don't want hit, and set the air LOW so it won't knock down you pony xD Maybe around 30 for the pressure. And don't forget to put down newspaper! But I recommend getting an airbrush. It works REALLY well. Makes the coat all smooth. I'm going to try to figure out how to airbrush symbols next <3
