I'm not the original poster, but if you're modifying a Pinkie Brushable, I'd prime her in White before painting Yellow.

Ok, so before painting a darker pony with a lighter shade I just need to apply some coats of white paint before the desired color :3

Exactly. Yellow is always kind of thin, and works better over a white primer.
