I don't know how many other people out there have noticed, but every FF Cotton Candy I have/ have found feels "greasy" no matter how I clean her. Has anyone else noticed this? Have you found a way to clean her?

My Very first pony was FF Cotton Candy and today I when was organizing my collection I noticed that she's worse than before, and she has a cancer spot :( I'm so sad and I'm at a loss. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

greasiness

my cc is fine. it is bright eyes i have trouble with. i have washed and washed then it happens again. i keep her seperated because of it.

This is something that seems to happen to old vinyl. It is especially present in vintage Barbie heads, too. The plastisizer is oozing and breaking down. Twin Pines has a great product to help remedy this. It's called Formula 911. I've had great luck with it and it last much longer than regular soap but unfortunately, this problem is a constant struggle. Old age is irreverseable :(

There's really no need to seperate her. This doesn't catch to others. Nothing actually spreads to other plastic items. ;) It's just the plastic breaking down. At this point there's not much you can do except clean her thoroughly every so often.

Geez, I'd hate to see "this breaking down of the plastic" to some of those ponies members here have spent a lot of $$$$ on!

Mine is greasy too! I thought I was just unlucky lol. I'm glad I know why now :)

I think the same thing is happening to my Wigwam. Except I'd say he's more "sticky" than "greasy." He's from my childhood collection, and none of the others that were stored with him have any problems.

Is this the same thing, breaking down of plasticizer? And why does it only happen to some, and not to others?

That's what happened to my childhood Brandy and Twinkles. When I unpacked them several years ago, they were a sticky mess so I tries to wipe it off and their faces came right off!!! I was heartbroken. :( I still have them though.

i have a FF snuzzle like that... shes rea;lly tacky, so to speak.. and a peachy like that..

I definitely think it has to do with the temperatires that the Ponies are being stored in and what they are being wrapped up in.....maybe tissue paper would be better than Ziploc bags? That way the toys can "breath"?
