what are some of your favorite franchises and games in them? I grew up during the nes/snes/sega period so a lot of my tastes are older I guess

Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina of Time (new game for me, it's ok, but I've found I'm not such a die hard Zelda fan after all) and Pokémon (SAPPHIRE & SILVER!) These were my childhood Pokémon games, and I absolutely adore them. I have preordered my copy of Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, I'm dying to get hold of it! I am currently playing Pokémon x and love it's style.

It may not really be part of a game series but some of my favorite games are the Rare games for N64. You can't beat an afternoon of Banjo-Tooie or Conker's Bad Fur Day

Ratchet & Clank series - Up Your Arsenal
Spyro series - the original PSOne Spyro the Dragon
Seiken Densetsu series - Legend of Mana (though I really like Seiken 2 a lot also)
Tales of series - Destiny 2/Eternia
Atelier series - Atelier Iris (none of this time-constraint "let's build an awesome alchemy shop" crap for me! Just give me monsters to fight to save the world!)

Oooo... Where to start?

Love Final Fantasy as well. My favourite of all the franchises. 7 will always be my fave, because I'm huge on men with lovely long hair: Sephiroth and Zack.

DragonBall. Because sometimes people just need their butts kicked. I really enjoy Budokai 3 because Raditz gets more play. Again, pretty guy, long hair.

Left 4 Dead. Still prefer the first, because Francis is a big bald baddy who hates everything. Fits my mood when I'm killin' zombies.

Resident Evil. Again, I prefer the older versions to the newer chapters, mainly because the controls were kinda wonky once we hit 4.

Silent Hill, The Suffering, Dead Space, Bio Shock all get honorable mentions.
