I would use a very light watercolor wash over it for color. You would love lose any details and it would turn out lovely. However...don't do that if you inked it with waterbased ink!

Play with some colour in Photoshop before doing it on the hard copy. It will give you an idea of whether it will enhance it or detract from it. :)

What I recommend is if you're scared to colour something, photocopy it!
(or if you own a scanner, scan it to your PC and then print ;P)

Then colour on the photocopied version as either a practice, or your final work.

I took reccomend a light washing with watercolours, watercolour pencils, or markers :)
