Custom Spray paint?

Has anyone ever tried spray paint on a custom? Does that work? I have one I want silver and I'm afraid I cant get the result I want with dye.
 
IT will smell so fumish and it will be sticky. I ended up throwing away a barbie doll because the spray paint never drived.
