When I saw this thread at the top of the list I did a bit of a double-take! It also occurs to me that I never followed up with what worked to get rid of the stink!
For the group of Summer Wings I believe I was posting about originally, I put them in a sealed tupperware contained with some baking soda in the bottom and let them sit for a week. They smelled a lot better once I took them out, and once they had a bit of time to air out on the display shelf the smell was completely gone!
