MLPTP EVENT Chit chat thread for Step 1.

I wasn't sure she'd escape the container, but she did! I was putting her into the laundry basin, and what should start but the rinse cycle on my washing washine... ewww! I had her downstairs in the spare freezer which we've only just turned back on for xmas... so the basin was handy. Thankfully I grabbed her before the grey water attacked her! So instead of the basin, she got a garden pic.

This is so disastrous, lol. I had a huuuuge bubble on the bottom, and since I put Pony Bride face down, her stomach and legs are mostly exposed. I flipped the ice block and filled in the hole, so hopefully she'll be ready by... Tomorrow? Certainly not tonight. :(

My freezing attempt is being... potentially disasterous, in these last stages... I've been freezing in layers, but there wasn't quite enough at the end to cover her completely, so I taped up wax paper along the sides, to give it a bit more height, and of course, it leaked... so I had to clean up what I could the best I could... and just go in very VERY shallow layers, now, for the last little bit... Dunno what the end result'll be, but... we'll see. ^_^;;

I'm excited, but does this affect the pony in any way? I mean, doesn't some water get IN the pony?

Water probably will get in your pony, but it won't damage it. Just be sure to properly dry her afterwards. :)

And can I use a small ornament or something else Christmasy instead of holly or tinsel?

I am doing this at work... oh what the teachers at my job are probably wondering if they go in the freezer today or tomorrow!!! LOL.... But I tried to do it in halves... I did the first half this morning so that she'd freeze during the day and went to fill the container up the rest of the way and the ice wanted to float! So it made a mess LOL..... I just thought of something... flipping the ice block over to freeze her up the rest of the way if it decides to float....:)

I posted mine before work, so I didn't get any defrost pics... but now it seems posie's rather attached to her tinsel boa - the ice won't let go yet! It's the only place there's still ice, and I can't empty the water out of her until I can get to her neck seam! Darned posey...

Unicorn Tamer, it has to be tinsel or holly, but even if you only frezer the pony you still get full points. Extra and extra extra points are only issued if the instructions are followed. We do it this way to make things as fair as possible as some people will have problems doing the extra in one step but will breeze through another. :) Happy hunting!

Stormness, I just turned the water in my kitchen tap to the hottest it could get and melted the ice that way. It only took a few minutes. I didn't like the idea of Bow Tie sitting in water for hours as the ice melted, so I melted it away and got her into the drying stage as soon as I had snapped a few pictures. :)

thanks for the tip, but I was worried about her sinking in, as she's a pretty squishy/soft pony, so I left her defrost naturally. That'll teach me to pick the first adult G1 that I could find with a loose head seam so I could get the water out! At any rate, she should be melted by now, I'm about to go check.

posted my pic! I went to rinse off the block of ice before I took a pic of it to get it all nice and clear, and it started cracking!

I was like NOOOOOOOOOO *snap photo quickly before it broke*

luckily it didn't break ;)

this was my original attempt, and it was probably fine, but to me it looked like her nose was partway out... it wasn't good enough for me.

Rats- I have no tinsel. Oh well. xD

Poor Prancer's gonna get it...only have one G1, and it's a Dance n' Prance. It'll be interesting to see what happens...*looks sadly at poor pony getting ready to be frozen*

I am at my wits' end! I found a better container because the Pyrex just wasn't working out, so I started all over. I thought I was finally ready, tapped it and everything seemed solid. Flipped it over to get the ice out and water goes POURING all over my counter and floor. The middle hadn't frozen! I put new water back in the middle, and I'm not opening the freezer again until tomorrow morning. I'll be devastated if this doesn't work.

On the plus side, I did get a Snow White-esque picture to share:

My ponies in the freezer right now! I got some tinsel from a friend that had some extra left over. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I got the pictures up. I also have some thawing pics, though not as nice as those. Poor Moondancer. She told me she got an awful brainfreeze. I decided to freeze Moondancer because she's my G1 in the worst condition and her head comes off, so drying her will be easy and without risk.

So I take off her head and empty out the water in her body and then tip over her head to do the same, but something was rattling about inside it. I got worried and looked in and saw pieces of ice in it! Water that got in her head froze! LOL

"Hey, why'd you take a picture of my backside?!"
To show off your pretty tail.
"Oh, I get it."

I froze Seashell since she doesn't have a tail, I think it will be easier to get the water that way.
