I don't want to sound mean, but lately alot of old threads keep getting bumped by people other than the seller. Its really annoying because the post has usually not been updated in a long time, and chances are the items are no longer avialable. I just get tired of having to remember to read the date of the original post and look look to see if it was the seller who bumped it.

Please stop bumping old sales threads. =-)

I think that maybe sellers should have the option to lock old sales threads to prevent this from happening.

That's a good idea. Or they could just edit to erase the info in it. I think the problem would be that people wouldn't lock (or edit) them though...unless they sold everything that was on it.

yeah true, but if they haven't sold everything then in some cases it may be okay for a bump. people just have to keep their own threads up to date

Mine got bumped several weeks ago- it reminded me to update it.

Exactly why I very seldom post on sales posts... unless I really want to watch them for updating.

Posting "PM-ing you" on a thread is stupid... unless you are trying to get your post count up.

Just PM, but don't respond on the thread- unless it will benefit EVERYONE (ask for references, shipping quotes or prices).

Here, here!!

I agree with thebeth on having the sellers having the option to lock their sales thread.

At the very least, perhaps the sellers can do their part too by changing the title (without bumping) to "SALES COMPLETED, THANK YOU" or "ALL SALES NOW ON HOLD" or even "NO SALES UNTIL 2/11".

I think its a bit annoying too, but it is a two-way street for the sellers and the buyers. ;)

I guess I do this sometimes because I am always afraid of the off-chance that someone won't get my PM for some reason, or they check their thread more frequently than they do their messages. The very first person I PM'ed about ponies when I first joined here never responded, but seems to have since disappeared from the boards. Just my personal experience, I guess.

Also, I think that if it is a thread selling one or just a few ponies, and you see that say, five people have posted "PM'ing you" before you, you know your chances of buying that pony aren't very good.

....I agree with this, actually! I believe Ive left some "PM'ed ya!" posts before for exactly the same reason! It never hurts to let the seller know you are interested, so they'll check thier PMs! I think its a case-by-case basis! :)

I do it too sometimes I'm just too chatty I guess :allecto:I do it just to let them know I'm interested too and some sellers check the sales thread as often if not more so than pms.
