Btw, Why is (Insert Pony) So Popular?

Me neither. She looks too much like Sherbet. I think there are just a limited number and so she's more sought after.

But I wonder why is Applejack so popular? If I have one up for sale she sells fast. So I've wondered what it is about her that is so desirable.

I agree with bluerose on sherbet. The mail orders go for crazy money.
I think maybe Applejack might be more popular because of FIM but im not sure. Shes got apples she has pretty colors whats not to love??

It could also be that she was such a prominent character in Rescue at Midnight Castle, even if she did get transmogrified.

Interesting. All we need are evil selkie ponies and we're set XD

Btw, why is Sweet Scoops so stupidly expensive?
Sweet Scoops was MO. Other than that, nothing special. The charm gets ridiculous prices.

I've read a lot of people say Applejack was their first pony. The nostalgia could have something to do with it.

I think AJ was a lot of people’s first pony or the pony they remember first getting.

I know I already had ponies but the ones I remember getting (and playing with most) were Shady, Surprise, Wind Whistler (all NSS) and Mirror Mirror. AJ was also a really cool little pony in the very first “pilot/special” episode of MLP.

I'm guessing Applejack's popularity is a combo of nostalgia and the modern MLP series. She's an unique color scheme as well.

I think that one of the most unappreciated designs are all the SHS, yeah, I get it they are extremely slim and not at all as "normal" ponies, but they are really amazing! (I'd have loved to have one as a Glow 'n Show, along with pegasus and unicorns.)

Ah. I like them, but I don’t go out of the way to collect them most of the time. They’re an interesting transition from G1 to G2.

I’m guessing Goldilocks is popular because she’s a mail order? I don’t see too much demand for them otherwise.

My personal favs are the original SHS and the Pretty Ponies =)

Goldilocks is a "meh" for me =X

I think certain ponies are just popular because it's important to that person it could be the personality or the way they look their favorite color like minty for instance if you grew up with the minty then you would understand why most people like Minty for the G3's personality or for the g1 for her color I think most people like Rapunzel for her hair it's a beautiful yellow long hair pony with a beautiful pink body I really want one but she's a little too expensive I think that's the reason why she's so popular because she was hard to gain original by mail order I think that's why she's popular but I do think most ponies are popular because it's important to that person's past be they liked it for who it is or just like it only like Derpy she's only a background character that she showed up once in a while but when she did it was really funny her adorable gray body to her bubbles for her cutie Mark people just fell in love with her personality her looks that her and Google eyes people just connected with her she was clumsy goofy and just really entertaining to watch I think that's why most ponies are really popular so that's my thoughts on the topic

I think Rapunzel has the longest hair out of all the ponies...which meant it was more prone to getting cut or tangled, which makes ones in good condition that much rarer. So I think that’s another reason she’s popular. Did she ever show up in the show? I’ve seen glass artwork of her, but I don’t know if that’s original or fan art.

Rapunzel was never in the series. While it can be difficult to find one with nice, uncut hair, she isn't really more uncommon than any of the other mail orders. I've seen her come up for auction/sale more frequently than Sweet Scoops and Mommy and Baby Beachy Keen, especially lately. I think there was an early theory in the collecting community that she was rare (and she probably was more elusive in the early days of internet trading/collecting), and it's just perpetuated throughout the years.

For me, I was in no rush to own her and definitely not for the average price. I still wouldn't, actually, had I not won her in a raffle at the 2016 MLP Fair. Unless I found her at a flea market or yard sale for cheap, which hardly ever happens for me anymore. I like her and was super-excited to win her, though.

That's it for me. I really wanted her as a kid but all I got from RaMC was Firefly. I got G3 AJ as a kid but still really wanted G1 AJ cuz for some reason I thought she was a boy, and she was in the Sea Pony scene.

I remember when I thought Hearthrob was a boy. HEARTHROB.

I actually really like G3 AppleJack. But I don’t blame people for wanting her original color scheme. It’s strange when ponies change coloring and even type during generation shifts.

And then there’s Firefly the pink Pegasus and then Firefly the sparkly baby in G1 XD Looks like they lose track of names sometimes. Their symbols are different, so they’re both different ponies.
