MLPTP EVENT BLOCK PARTY: Never Have I Ever - PONY EDITION!!

(Sorry to be slightly late... my mental health really required a long float in the pool yesterday rather than getting online :winkpony: )

Lavender Letters is impressed by the pony collecting commitment of our members! Onto the next prompt!!

"Round TWO: Never have I ever.... put off house work to clean my ponies!"

Long floats in the pool are highly conducive to good mental health. All the experts are sayin it.

Yes. I have done this several times. I make an excuse that my shelves need dusting and by the time I'm dusting and running a quick brush through their hair...I'm done house cleaning for the day. XD

Yes! Currently putting off all sorts of housework to clean ponies. Unfortunately, my collection has been stored in the basement for about 5 years or so. My sister in law has moved in & out multiple times in that period; so no room for ponies. :(

I've finally got room & cases to put everything in; but the cleaning process has been slow & somewhat heartbreaking. Basements are not kind to ponies. So lots of sunfading, de-stinking, & purging of non essential items (lots of random papers). Luckily my boyfriend understands, & has been picking up my slack. <3

Well, not deliberately, but pony cleaning is much easier to manage than cleaning my room so I suppose yes, in a way? I still have a box of ponies that need to be cleaned, but work is a more pressing matter that must be done before I can actually get to cleaning the ponies...

Pony spa days are a great way to procrastinate from larger chores! Clutter stresses me out, and it's easier for me to channel that stress into the detail work on a pony rather than the sink full of dishes in the kitchen. :D It's also really de-stressing and soothing for me; I love taking my ponies from beat-up and grungy to sleek and stylish. Would it be easier to just do the dang dishes? Yes. But do I wanna? NO!

Lavender Letters thinks this next one will be a bit more tough...

Round THREE: "Never have I ever... found Mimic in the wild!" :mimic::mimic::mimic::mimic:
(This could be at a thrift store or even when she was brand spankin' new at a store back in the '80s. Purchasing from another collector, or "at value" does not count in this round.)

Nope! I didn’t even know Mimic was a thing until I started doing research into collecting.

Never have I ever found mimic in the wild, and I'd don't hold any hope that I ever will.

Nope, but I'm not giving up. I'm sure I'll find a ton of her after I buy her at current value, though. That's my luck. Closest I've ever come was just missing her at Steel City Con. But the seller was knowledgeable of pony values, so she wouldn't have been a bargain purchase. He kept her in a locked case with his other expensive collectibles, while the rest of the ponies he was selling were in plastic bins on the floor.

Yes! I have along with 75% of my G1 collection . I am a flea market/antique baby. Spent at least a few mornings every summer with my father there. It pains me thinking back sometimes on all the ponies and accessories left behind but a kid only gets so much spending money.

A guy had listed a lot of 60 ponies for $90 on Craigslist. I haggled down to $80, even though he kept mentioning the MIB G3s in the lot (they were Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, soo... not that impressive). When I got home to admire my treasure, I found Mimic in the bottom! There was also a Red Roses who still had her scent, and a Caramel Crunch with her factory curls still intact.

I'm not sure where he got the ponies from, but he didn't seem to know that much about them. It's still one of my favorite finds!
