I have the two mail order birthday babies, Baby Gametime and Baby Sugarcake with all of their accessories in excellent condition. Does anyone know approximately how much they are worth? I also found a copy of the pamphlet advertising them. Thank you!

OMG-so watching this...if you're selling that is. They are going for at least a couple hundred dollars each with Sugarcake being the higher. She has been seen around $500 if I remember correctly. I am not sure about the accessories. I want to say around $50 was the last I saw them at but that was a few years ago.

For $500 she's yours! ;) I remember how much fun it was to get these ponies in the mail as a kid! I love that people still love them even today.

Gosh, if we weren't looking for a house right now, my tax return would be all yours lol. So cool that these are childhood ponies of yours! So jealous. I guess the most recent eBay listing sold for BIN $338.77. So, may be going back down a tad or the $500 was just an exception.

I think it's been a long time since she went quite that high, lol. ;)

Here's her most recent results: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_blrs=spell_check&_nkw=pony sugarcake&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684

And Baby Gametime is likely to be about the same. I'll have to do a bit more digging to get a more accurate valuation on each. ;)

Yeah, that second auction with the lot didn't show up when I searched. I think it may have been around a year ago that she went for higher because I have been keeping my eye out for her since she is one of about 10 ponies or so that I have left on my US G1 wish list and I was devastated to see what she was going for at the time. Interestingly, I actually received her accessories with my PE that I ordered on eBay a couple years ago. I was so bummed to find out that she was not in the box too. I have thought about selling her accessories but don't know what they're worth.

Wow! I had no idea. Thank you for letting me know! Do any of you, (or the rare pony expert) know how you find a buyer at that price? Do you just try your luck at eBay, here, or at a convention?

Also, on a side note, my collection is of about 80ish G1 ponies from when I was a child. I definitely played with them, but loved them and took very good care of them, so they are all still really nice. However, because you needed to collect "pony points" to order ponies through the mail, I also kept the boxes and cardboard backings, and still have them. Someone told me that if I had the backings/boxes, that increases the value. The problem is that I don't really see ponies posted like this on eBay or for sale sites, so I don't know by how much. I also have kept the vast majority of the ribbons, brushes, and accessories, too. Any ideas or tips on this?

I would absolutely start here, where there are no fees to be had. You will definitely find a buyer via Ebay, but Ebay will also take about 1/3 of your profits. I would personally buy your Mail Order babies in a heartbeat if I had those kind of funds available. ;) You might have the best luck waiting until tax refund time to advertise them, when many people have a little extra cash that may be burning a hole in their pocket.

As a backcard collector, I can tell you for sure that people do generally want those, as well as accessories. ;) The G1 artwork is so pretty, a lot of us like them just for that factor. Backcards aren't generally worth a lot, but it never hurts to offer them. Some may want to buy a pony with its card, some like me may prefer just the card. ;)

I would start taking photos of what you have and post them here, and the community can help you put a value on everything. ;)

I would snap up Sugarcake in a heartbeat if the funds presented themselves (tax refund) and her hair was not faded. I don’t need her accessories though. I would definitely be interested! Can offer accessories separately too. Some people just need those verses a complete pony with accessories.

Thank you so much! I am going to start a new thread with picture of what I have.

Omg Sugarcake’s pink hair! Drool! Come on tax return!!! Oh, she would be mine! So, does that mean that accessories alone for each pony is $100-150?

Any chance you’d sell ponies and accessories separately?
