My thoughts exactly, except being a current members parental figure. I see 90's babies and it makes me feel old because 1990 still feels like yesterday to me for some reason. lol
I can remember who was president in 1984, because I asked so many questions about "what's a president?", so yes, I feel old. Plus, the days of prank calling "is your refrigerator running?" "You better go catch it". Then came caller id.

All this new fangled technological stuff confounds me.

Tak, you could block your number if you want to make silly calls like those.

During the Quarantine, you may find lonely people who want to chat...

It just took me 40 minutes to find how to block a phone number on my home phone. (lol I know I'm a dinosaur with a home phone still, in my defence it's for my grandparents who live with me.)

I only have a cell phone because my income is so low that service is free.

We have land line as well. People are stunned to find this out, but cell phones rarely work where we live. When I tell people we live in the Boonies, I mean it!

I believe! We used to be a 30 minute drive from the nearest gas station. We had a little corner store that sold candies for 5¢!

Like a Gas Station Pay Phone?
?
We did have payphones for a nickel back then, too. This store had little boxes of lemonheads and cherrybombs for 5¢ each. Now you can only get those boxes in the Halloween candy. We rode our horses to the little store, pooled our allowance, and would get a drink to share and a little box of candy each.

I was thinking of the previous posts about Land Lines Versus Cell Phones.
The post you quoted was about Land Lines And Pay Phones.

I thought you were responding that you would drive 30 minutes to the nearest phone and while at the Gas Station you'd buy candy, not just use the phone...

I apologize if I misunderstood...

No worries. I confuse easily.

I was born in 1966. LOL. I'm old enough to be mom to half you whippersnappers!

And I AM one member's mom, so there ya go!
My mom would be displeased if I posted her birth year, but my dad's 1953, so he's got you beat! :p
Dang, this is my and my daughter's shared account. I was born in the 70's and they were all 2008+. So I couldn't check four dates. Sorry the vote is off because of us!
My sister is a seventies baby. There are some others on here.

We had a little general store that sold sodas, bread and some livestock feed but they gave up on gas. Keeping the pumps up to date was too expensive. Covid killed it finally though, which is a darn shame. The store had been there for decades. It's miles from the house, but it was still closer than going to town. Covid has killed a lotta stores in our area, they were barely hanging on as it was. :(

My mom was born in 1969!

LOL! I WINNNNNN! I AM ANCIENT! I AM THE HIGHLANDER, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
