Best place for scoring g1 ponies?

I've been keeping an eye on ebay for some time now, but they don't really seem to have ponies in good condition (super baity). I managed to fine a handful of g1's at my local thrift, which is great, because they have a bag of them (combined with other gens or fakies) for $3 or $4, tops, so it's hard for me to justify spending the same amount on just one pony off of ebay. Is there any hope for super cheap g1's online around the same price range (that aren't beyond all hope and super baity), or should I just keep scouring my thrift store and hope more g1's turn up?

I’ve been buying from other collectors and Facebook marketplace a lot lately. It’s where I’ve been able to find bigger lots or rarer ponies (such as my international exclusive ponies).
I set my marketplace to notify me whenever someone posts something with “pony” in the title or discription. It’s worked out pretty well. :)

So far Facebook marketplace has been a bust for me, but I live so far away from any big cities, it isn't a surprise. I do get lots of ads for 'real' pony supplies, which is always tempting. I'd love to buy a carriage for my ponies to pull me around in. I WILL ENSLAVE THEM.

My best best with MLP is right here. I've gotten a lotta good buys, and better yet, made wonderful friends.

Actually there are quite a bit of good condition G1s on eBay in lots that you can buy for less than $4 each if you're patient. Right now prices are going fairly high, but wait a couple months and you'll have no problems getting ponies for a good deal and you can just sell off the ones you don't want on here or on eBay.

sometimes craigslist, I have not found anything on facebook marketplace yet...... Thrift stores sometimes have luck but you kinda have to go a lot.

I think its better for me on ebay but I have hunted ponies at thrift stores and antique malls ect. I seem to walk out with something pony related so I guess I do well.

eBay is the best place. Just keep rooting through the BINs and auctions, there are nice ponies as well as baity ones. :)

In real life, you can check thrift shops. But G1 ponies are around 30 years old now. So they tend to be few and far between these days.

the ones that have like half their faces chewed off, I wonder why people even bother trying to list. Do people really buy such baity ponies?

I buy lots from Facebook Marketplace. My US G1 collection is about at the halfway point now, so it's getting harder to find local lots that aren't ponies that I already have. Also, though they're few and far between, some sellers are out of their minds on prices and won't negotiate. I'm better off buying from Pony Meets and in forums and Facebook groups lately, even if I'm paying more to get what I need.
