Beheading G3 ponies

Because I'm at the end of my tether and my hands can't take much more abuse ><

How the heck do I get the heads off G3 ponies? I've tried acetone on dental floss, knives, prying them off... but they haven't budged. And unfortunately I have to behead these ponies cuz I need to rehair them!

HALP!
 
I usually go after them with an exacto knife. Most of them came with a square blade that you can just kind of slowly wiggle in along the seam and you're less likely to cut the actual plug.
Sometimes they do still have glue on the inside and you can rub your hands raw trying to pry them off >.<
Try running them under hot water. That might soften the glue and plastic enough to make it easier for you to pull =)
 
A good boil can help loosen up the glue enough to pry them off, but it doesn't always work. G3's tend to be glued a little tighter than G1's, but that just be the age difference. Doesn't hurt to try though :)
 
If they're really stubborn I soak in boiling water and try to pull it off. If that doesn't work I use an exacto and start at the least obvious area of the neck seam. I carefully and slowly run the exacto over the seam to loosen it. Once I have a small area thats open I insert a small flat head screwdriver, its actually for use on electronics so its quite thin. Usually I put the screwdriver in by pointing it downward and sliding it between the neck hole and the plug. Once its in far enough I turn it up towards the head and push it into the head a bit. Then I pull up on the handle using leverage to pull the head off. Usually this works cause I get more leverage using the screwdriver than my hands. Just be careful about the tip of the screwdriver while its in the head. You don't want to poke a hole in the head while prying it off.
If it doesn't pull the head off it usually pulls the neck seam enough that its easier to cut with an exacto without cutting in the wrong place.
