So I sold a pony today and the buyer contacts me asking where I acquired the pony. She said she read the content of my sales thread and looked at all the photos and she knows for certain it's her childhood pony (it has initials on her hooves). Apparently she had sold it at a yard sale (I'm assuming she sold it years ago since she's buying it back now).

I told her I bought it in a lot of ponies and accessories on eBay. I'm glad I could make her day if she has decided to collect ponies once again. I just thought I would share and see if there were any similar stories out there.

That seems like a one in a million chance.

Aww! I love this story so much!

It’d be super nice if it really is her old pony, but I think it might just be a strange coincidence.

I thought so, too, but she said she even pointed her mom to my eBay listing to confirm it was her pony. The pony has had a hair trim and has initials in pink on all four her hooves. One different letter on each. I get a lot of ponies with black or dark purple letters and sometimes with inked letters, but I rarely get ponies with lighter color marker, and the fact they were on all four. And if she recognizes her initials and her mom also recognizes them.... I think it's more than a coincidence.

Wow!! That's really something, if she's right! Can you imagine a toy coming back to you 20 years later? I've never had something like that happen to me but I've often wondered about the original owners of some of my ponies. I'll see an initial on the bottom hooves and be like, "hmmm, M.B. I wonder where you are and you'd like to know I'm taking good care of your pony" :D

I kept up with all my ponies but I had other toys that my mom doomed to yard sale fate. Having one make it's way back would be amazing just for happening!
