Aside from Ponies, what do you collect?

:p

I have Horror movies from all over the world i also collect anything horror movie related. I have a slate from Halloween i have autographs from Marilyn Burns , Gunnar Hansen, Terri Mcminn Tobe Hooper, Kane Hodder i also have done Horror movie art and i have it all over the place :) Ohhhh Yeah Halloween's huge for me so i do up the house a month in advance to get all our stuff out so i guess you could call that my second or third obsession

I am just loving all these replies! Some of them remind me of things I also collect but neglected, like Star Trek items, and some sound so appealing!

It also delights me to know that so many Pony fans are also horror fans. The majority of my movies are horror from all over, the more obscure the better. I just love a well made (or poorly made, I'm a Z film fan as well) flick!

I forgot one major thing I collect: Pez dispensers. Anyone else a Pez head?

I even love that soap flaoured chalk candy they come with. Nummers!

Ball-jointed dolls for me too - love my BJDs. <3

I also collect Harry Potter stuff where I can. I'm doing my "Death Eaters of Suffolk" wand collection and I'm halfway there, lol - I just need Yaxley's!

I have a terrible yearning for Hot Toys figures but am resisting because of the price. Really just want Avengers Loki right now. Why must the Thor 2 version look so bad? =(

I am longing for those too. They priced me out for right now though. I'm hoping someone in the family will get me Loki for my BD. A girl has to dream.

Totally have to! One of my friends has Agent Coulson and he's incredible. But really I just want to give Avengers Loki an army. (Of ponies of course.)

Funny enough, at first I was miffed that Loki wasn't going to be in his traditional comic book green/yellow/horns to the ceiling outfit, so I was determined not to like him in the film. Instead, I just adore him! My three sisters are in love with him too.

He would totally rule with a Pony army. It must be so!

Oyyy, the collecting! So many of the things I've picked up don't really belong together. I'd like to say that I collect Pretty Cure merchandise, but getting most of that stuff (non-bootlegs) here in the states tends to get pricy even with Amazon and Ebay.

I like creatures, so there's figurines ranging to Pokemon, Digimon, Gamera, various RPGs, and traditional fantasy creatures by Shleich or PAPO.
But I also like overly cute toys as well, such as: Lalasoopsy minis and vintage Littlest Pet Shop.

And sometimes I just really like how a random action figure may look. I recently picked up an Indigo Lantern version of DC's Atom (though he's missing his staff) just because he looked so cool. Most of the time I buy toys from the local flea market, hence why I have such a varied display.

I have about five with characters I like on my shelf. It seems like an nice collection since they're so readily available, and you can also find vintage ones, but I've never really gotten into it. And I really do like the candy... especially the grape and strawberry flavors!

Plush pokemon, touhou toys/figures/plush/dolls, Precure toys. here are my most beautiful cuties: Sleepover at Mana's House by Pookasnooks on deviantART

Also I have 41 Tickled Pinks (she's a rainbow brite doll). here's most of them:

They are eight year old little cry babies!

Thought I would show you all my Rupert the Bear my actually collection of Rupert Bear bits (well most) is currently in the loft in the big wooden Rupert Bear box that mum made :D

So this is my Rupert the Bear had him since the day I was born as you can see he is extremely well loved :p

Aw! Sweet Rupert is well loved! I do so adore a fur bare, cherished stuffed toy. They just make me smile. If I'm at a thrift shop and see one, I sometimes buy it out of sheer pity. You wonder how anyone could ever give up their dear ol' pals!

I have limited experience with Rupert, hailing from dirty ol' Texas. LOL. We had one beautiful illustrated book, filled with reprints of some of the older stories. How it made its way all the way out to my side of the Pond, much less my tiny rural town in the early 70s will remain forever a mystery. Sadly we read the book so often it fell to shreds and was tossed. I mourn its loss to this day. It was so lovely, the art so crisp and clean. Although I recall the story while a product of its time, was incredibly politically incorrect. It was Rupert Looks for the Diamond Leaf or something close to that. The little native people were drawn in a very stereotypical way, but if I can forgive Winsor McCay for it, I can forgiveMary Tourtel. I'm going to have to find another copy.

Ooo hehe I shall have to check my books when I can get into the box I did just ask mum & she doesn't recognise the name but we do have loads hehe so it might be there :D

Wow mum just told me Rupert the Bear (not my teddy specifically hehe) was made in 1937 :O so old hehe so I guess that is why it has so many stereotypes because of its era, I know that he is supposed to be a brown bear but they made him white thats just how they were then think I used to ask mum why a polar bear wasn't in a snowy place haha.

But even with all that still love it hehe, I will see if i can find a pic of what my Rupert used to look like think there is one with me as a baby hehe

According to mum he has been stitched up many times & his trousers have been sewn on too hehe. I could never & will never get rid of him :D

WARNING: MAJOR NERDITUDE APPROACHING

Actually, the original Rupert stories by Mary Tourtel date all the way back to 1920. Around 1935 the comic strip was handed over to Alfred Bestell, who expanded on the characters and universe greatly (understatement of the century, by the way) and is still considered by many to be the best Rupert writer/artist, and even the true "father" of Rupert by some. Most of Bestell's stories, from what I've seen, were actually pretty fair for their time, and still have enough charm to hold up today, so I can see why.

Also, the reason why he started out as a brown bear and was then made into a white one was to save costs on ink. Which makes me wonder why they still color him brown in the covers of the annual books... I guess because by now it's tradition?
...He does have a polar bear uncle, though.

I am so sorry for the slight off-topic, but I just couldn't resist.

I love it when people share their knowledge on a subject! My experience with the character is very limited, and I must say this is sparkling a new interest for me! I've always loved the art of the 20s and 30s (heck, just any sequential art, regardless of its time period) so anything I learn just fuels my curiosity more.

Nerd on! I've never minded thread drift. Conversations just naturally shift from topic to topic anyway.

Hehe :D mum was talking comic stripe wise :p I should really get all my Rupert bits down from the loft but don't have anywhere to put them :shockpony: lol & what little room I did have has now been invaded by ponies :D hehe (wingers in specific)

With me I don't no a lot about his history just odd bits mum tells me hehe. All I know is I have had rupert stuff since before I was born (and apparently when I was still in mums tum haha) & of course I love him hehe I have a Rupert Rattle (he is a soft teddy too just rattles hehe with his body as a handle) that is almost as worn as my teddy :D

In addition to ponies, I collect:

Books
Anything Spider-Man or Batwoman
Plush penguins

...but mainly books. I think it dovetails nicely with the ponies, though; the bookshelves are half-filled with books and half with ponies!

My biggest drain on cash is my Transformers collection. I have several different characters, but I also collect anything Prowl related.

I used to be BIG into anime (even started a convention), but I have sold most of my memorabilia by now, only keeping my absolute favorites.

While I don't consider myself a collector, I guess I collect animation, both movies and TV shows. Animation has always fascinated me, from the art to the writing, so I still own quite a bit and watch even more.

I "collect" penguin plushes by way of my friends. Whereas, I once said how much I love penguins and then everyone bought me penguin stuff all the time.
