I am pleased to announce that the 2011 My Little Pony Fair will take place July 8th and 9th at Hasbro's Headquarters in Rhode Island.

Additional information will be posted in the coming weeks! Check us out online at My Little Pony Convention and Fair 2011 - Home

Updates 6/8

Hasbro is asking the Fair staff for a final count of people who will be going on the Hasbro Tour on Friday July 8th. In order to attend the tour, you must purchase your event tickets BEFORE Monday June 13th at 8:00 a.m. EST. We will still have online general admission ticket sales until June 27th for the main day event on July 9th, but if you purchase tickets after the tour cut-off date (June 13th), your ticket will NOT include the Hasbro Tour.

I wanted to make everyone aware of this in case you have been waiting to purchase your tickets.

Also the Event Schedule has been posted on the Fair website and the games and activities page has been updated as well. Visit the My Little Pony Fair Website to see these new additions.

You will notice that we have two bus pick up times and two bus drop off times each day. If you signed up for the motor coach you will be assigned bus times soon (We are making sure of the times before we assign people to each bus). Also, Hasbro is unable to allow us to screen the film My Little Obsession at Hasbro Headquarters. We have reserved space at the Renaissance Hotel on Friday evening and will split Fair attendees into two groups so everyone can have a chance to attend the screening. These assignments will be made soon after we hash out the motor coach transportation details.

Several questions about parking have been asked. Hasbro assured us yesterday that there will be free parking available at Hasbro. You will not need a special permit to park if you are driving your own vehicle.

Also, if you are interested in ordering lunch for Saturday, all orders must be in by June 8th. You can place your orders through our Mlp Fair Lunch eventbrite ticketing.

Contests
Contest details have been added to our website www.mylittleponycon.com
You will recognize some old favorites as well as a new costume contest event!

Hasbro Catered Lunch Details
Guests are invited to purchase a Build Your Own Sandwich Lunch (catered by the Hasbro Cafe) to be served during the Fair Saturday afternoon (7-9-11).

Guests will create their own sandwiches from an assortment of lean deli meats, grilled chicken breast, and chicken salad, regular and low-fat cheese. Includes lettuce, tomato, whole wheat and white bread, sandwich rolls, tortillas and regular and low-fat spreads. Includes Hasbro house salad, dessert bars (An assortment of blondies, brownies with walnuts or lemon bars), chips, and assorted beverages.

The cost is $10.99 per person and all lunch orders/reservations must be purchased before June 8, 2011 so we have time to get the final lunch count to Hasbro catering.

Purchasing lunch is optional, but we wanted to provide an option onsite for attendees since there are very limited restaurants within walking distance to Hasbro. Plus, who wants to leave in the middle of the Fair?!

Tickets for the Ice Cream Social SOLD OUT
We have also added free tickets for the After Hours My Little Pony Ice Cream Social to be held Saturday night after the Fair from 6 to 7pm at the Renaissance Hotel. Tickets are currently only available for Renaissance Hotel Guests until April 30th. You must reserve a ticket through our Eventbrite ticketing system, and show your hotel key card and MLP Fair event badge to attend and qualify for a free ticket. If additional tickets remain after April 30th they will be released for purchase to non Renaissance Hotel guests.

Tickets for the After Hours My Little Pony Ice Cream Social can be reserved through the following eventbrite link:Eventbrite Ticketing for Ice Cream Social

The tickets for the Ice Cream Social went super fast! We were really surprised how quickly people snatched them up.

The hotel charges a crazy amount per person for the ice cream social after so many people (I think it is $12 per person). If you REALLY want to go and are willing to pay the extra cost the hotel charges us, let me know and I will try to get you in.

We can physically fit about 10 more people in the room (as in there will be enough chairs) we just can't cover the extra charges for the extra 10 people (it would be an extra $120 for just 10 more people).

On the bright side, this year is shaping up to have a record number of attendees!

Transporation Information-
Since parking at Hasbro is very limited and there are no hotels within walking distance to Hasbro, The My Little Pony Fair has rented a large motor coach to take Fair attendees to and from the Fair at Hasbro. It will leave from and return to the Renaissance Hotel.

Guests staying at the Renaissance Hotel qualify for free transportation aboard a motor coach to and from Hasbro on Friday and Saturday. Renaissance Hotel Guests must both reserve a ticket for their seat and must show their hotel key card upon boarding to verify they are staying at the Renaissance Hotel.

Guests staying at other area hotels or parking their own vehicles in Providence are welcome to ride the motor coach, but will be charged a $5 fee. The ticket will allow you to ride the motor coach both Friday and Saturday.

Reservations for seats aboard the motor coach are limited. Please reserve your ticket early to be sure there is a seat available. There is space under the motor coarch for vendor bags/suitcases. The motor coach will board at the Renaissance Hotel. Times TBA.

Transporatation tickets can be reserved/purchased through our ticketing sysytem:

MLP Fair Renissance Hotel Group Rate Online booking

This discounted rate is limited. Increasing the room block to include additional rooms after the room block has sold is subject to availablity. The cutoff date for this discount offer is June 17th 2011.

While it is suggested that MLP Fair attendees book their rooms at the Renissance Hotel (so as not to miss out on the extra after-hours Fair events), My Little Pony Fair attendees are welcome to make their own arrangements at any of the area hotels and are not required to stay at the Renissance. Those staying at other hotels can still use official Fair transportation to and from Hasbro and are invited to attend the movie screening on Friday.

Wow! Rhode Island, eh?
Sweet, I may be able to make it this year!

Why on Earth did they make it the same weekend as San Diego Comic Con?! Given that Hasbro always, always, always reveals new ponies and new infomation at Comic Con thats like the worst idea ever. Dividing Hasbro's attention between two MAJOR events on the same weekend is going to short BOTH of them.

Especially considering ComicCon opens on a Wednesday night, for those with advance passes, Thursday for everyone else. Two full days earlier than the Fair. Any exclusives or big reveals that could be made at the Fair is already going to have made it to the Internet from SDCC before its revealed.

Unless Hasbro isn't planning on having a booth at San Diego Comic Con this year, which would be a massive oversight by PR and Marketing, having them both on the same weekend just seems like such an epically bad idea across the board.

OHS. ... crap. Yea that was an odd decision, huh?
Well. Given the choices, SD Comic Con wins by a long shot.

Rhode Island again!! How exciting! We had a great time at the last RI fair & my boyfriend is actually excited to go back to that area... so I will definitely be attending this year.

I will do everything in my power to be there this year! Hopefully by then we might have a travel trailer and can camp nearby!

oh my gosh pony bat man.

I am so excited, i missed ri the first time cause i was pregnant and now i will get a chance to go this time.

i cant believe it i am freaking out, i called everyone in my family already and my boyfriend at work.

ok, ok, ok, think what do i need to do still..

i got my lugging and i got my pass port....

Hmm, sounds like a good reason to visit the in-laws! Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about a hotel. *ponders* I was disappointed I missed the last one that was there.

I'm with CJ, I was hoping it'd be in vegas or something... look's like I might have to settle for comicon instead.... since it is right down the street, and I've never been :X

OMG I only live about 20 minutes away! *DANCES*:cheshire:

Anyone coming from the Montreal area or could get to Montreal, the bus ticket for greyhound is only 118 round trip. but yes, we would be on the bus for 10 and a half hours.

however a plane ticket so far is priced at 600 to 900 with all the taxes and stuff.

going to see what the train will cost me, or if i could get a train.

Hum, Comic Con or a MLP Convention in Rhode island.

Now if only Comic Con tickets would go on sale!!!!

Was there any input from the general MLP community for the pick of weekend or was it a Hasbro said you can do it this weekend or else you do it somewhere else? Last year having the convention a week before Breyerfest in KY wasn't the smartest choice my friends and I thought. Breyerfest being the largest model horse show in the US, with collectors attending.

Very curious how the decision was made as to location and dates.

No, Tikibirds.

San Diego Comic Con is always the last or second to last weekend in July.

In the last two years the My Little Pony Fair has been the weekend before. Smack in the middle of the month and in 2008 it was in June, not July.

2010:
SDCC: 6/21 - 25

MLPF: 6/17 - 6/ 18

2009:
SDCC 6/23 - 6/26

MLPF: 6/19 – 6/20

2008:

SDCC: 6/24 - 6/27

MLPF: 5/21 - 5/22

For some reason, this year they decided to overlap them and I would sincerely love to know who had that idea because it means a large number of MLP fans won't get to attend the Fair.

They are selling themselves short, and cheaping us by having them on conflicting dates like this.

If they were smart they'd have MLP always be in June, when there is no other major conventions going on.
