Update:

KneonT and I are sad to announce the cancellation of the 2005 Winter Pony Festival for reasons outlined below. We sincerely apologize for any incontinence this has caused anyone.

The Pre-Festival Raffle (prizes Ice Crystal, 2003 MIB Winters, and Custom MLP Sign) will continue to be held, provided we sell the allotted amount of tickets by the ending date (see raffle thread for details).

Thank you all for your encouragement and support.

As most of you will know, several months ago KneonT and I decided to host the first annual Winter Pony Festival. This event was to take place in a large private home in Williamsport, PA, on December 3.

We were thrilled at the initial interest of 20-30 people. During the past few weeks, however, our guest list has dwindled greatly to the point where we are very sadly debating canceling the Festival.

KneonT and I put an unbelievable amount of time, effort, and planning into this event, and are extremely disappointed at the small response and lack of communication from the guests. We are seriously concerned that the resources we have will be put to poor use for an event with so few people.

We will be continuing discussion over the next few days, and will post an announcement as soon as we have made our decision. If you are currently participating in the Winter Pony Festival raffle, please see raffle thread for newly posted details.

Pony hugs,
Alissa / Strawberry Fair

Get ready for a weekend long holiday event for MY LITTLE PONY collectors! The first of its kind, the 2005 Winter Pony Festival will offer something new for Pony lovers -- a meet that feels more like a gathering of friends and family and less like a "convention." Celebrate the holidays with your Pony friends on a victorian gentleman's farm, go on an outing to Candy Cane Lane, curl up for a pony movie with hot chocolate and cookies, and be prepared for some true holiday magic!

Conclusion:

The 2005 Winter Pony Festival is the first ever large-scale, winter-themed pony convention in the history of pony meets! It's a great alternative for those who can't attend the annual MLP Fair because of distance or time constraints, and we hope that the Festival's success will ensure it's place as a yearly event for pony collectors everywhere! Although this event has been created in part for Northeastern-located ponies, ALL collectors from around the globe are welcome; from the UK to New Zealand, from to Sweden to Alaska; everyone is encouraged to join in the fun!

Now, I know what you are thinking: PA = snow. And that's a very logical assumption. However... if you have ever visited or lived in PA, you will know that our heaviest snowfall is actually in January (a full month after the Festival), and the chances of ice in October are slim to none. We have had an extrordinarily long summer this year and expect the calm climate to continue on into the year.

We hope that the Festival will have an enormous turnout; possibly one of the largest pony conventions ever hosted! But although we can rent space, provide festivities, and organize carpooling, we can't have a fantastic meet without your participation! So sit down, convince your family, friends, and spouse that they should come too, and always feel free to email us at kneontransitt@yahoo.com if you have any questions!

See You There!

I so wish I still lived up there... I moved last yera down to florida... I can't seem to find anyone who lives down here let alone to do a pony meet of any kind.
Looks like fun love the theme.

Hi there,

OMG I would LOVE to go to that. :cry: Such a shame... ;-;

It sounds like it would be so much fun... *cries*

Edit: Haha, I even dreamt about it last night. *sniff*

I would really like to! It's close enough that I could, but we'll have to see. I have part 2 of my interview tonight, so if I get the job...I may not be available then.

I'll cross my fingers, though! I really wanted to go to the convention, but that looks way out of our price range at the moment...

We're going to un-sticky this for a while to see if we can get more views. Sometimes people bypass the stickies. ;)

Is the traveling a problem, Yuixe? KneonT is arranging carpooling, so perhaps you could catch a ride with someone else? Although I hope you get your job, SquirtSquirt, I would love to see you again! It was so fun meeting at last year's PA Pony Meet! :D

Rabid you are only like an hour and a half away!!!

I may be going to Lancaster this week or next. My sis lives there. I am hoping to hold off until the new Target opens.

If you want to be included in all the fun PM me or e-mail kneontransitt@yahoo.com

Rabid. There is still room if you need a place. Just bring sleeping bags with you. Or if you prefer you can stay at a hotel. I know some other people were going with the hotel.

I did get to go to the new Target :) I liked the Starbucks they had in it. That was kind of neat.
