Stop me from knocking out a wall

I need more space. I think I may have to knock out a wall. ;)

I was thinking this white shelf on the right would work in my pony room (really, it's just a 3 x 7 foot storage space). I don't like it. There is not enough room to get in there and play.

Disappointing, because this shelf was very full and just moved from my bedroom and now it has to go back. Good grief. Pony planning is a lot of work.

I've found two, white, narrow Billy Bookcases on Craigslist and I think I can put them on the back wall. I have white Ikea picture ledges that can go on the right wall higher up, so that I can get in and move around. What do you think? Any other suggestions? If I just stop acquiring more ponies, I wouldn't have to continually look at ways to create space :D

I'm familiar with your conundrum, I just added extra shelving to my room and it's still not enough space o_O It's never enough space, it's like the TARDIS in reverse, pony rooms are smaller on the inside! Perhaps I need to stop thinking about a pony room and start thinking about a pony house!

A mansion!

I rather like the direction that @Gingerbread and @Leave a Whisper are going with this.... :lolpony:

I use the IKEA picture ledges for my pony display. They work wonderfully but don’t fit a lot of G1 Ponies. They are much more effective for baby ponies, animal friends and G4 ponies. So that might help with where you organize/put ponies. ;)

There is so much over crowding on the shelves. I want to display my babies with all their accessories, but I don't have the room. I had ponies on the picture ledges before and it's not ideal, but I'll try to put the babies there or maybe even the baby sea ponies.

Along the lines of a pony house or mansion, it was always my dream to have an 80's toy museum. I have tons of 80's toys, not just the ponies ;)

I think space is one of a Pony Collector's biggest threats. The other is budget. :D

And being a book collector (I have thousands of books, maybe over 10,000) I have shelves everywhere, but you can't put Ponies in front of them, because then you can't find your books. It's a real conundrum. Right now, most of my herd is in tubs, a good chucnk of the boxes are in storage and the shelves are stuffed. Gingerbread is right. We need houses for our collections!

I may need an intervention as well. :D

I would love to be able to fit a twin bed in my pony room so I could display my G1 linens. I've got a couple different comforters and 2 of those hide n' sleep bed tents. It'd be nice to change them every month or so and see them displayed. Maybe I can find a way to make it work one day. I remember once seeing a G1 kiddie pool, I swear I think I did. It wasn't hard plastic, more like the rubber bottom with ridged sides so it could be rolled up. I thought hmmm, that would be so cool set up in the middle of the pony room with sea ponies floating all in it! That was when I realized the pony room will never be big enough!

When we all croak off they can use our Pony hoards to make a huge MLP museum!

So funny story, my boyfriend and I have recently been discussing our wills and how we wanted our belongings divvied up. (Mainly financial but we both have “collections.”)
So when I looked him dead in the eye and said I wanted my ponies to go to a museum he legit thought I was joking. But I’m not at all. I want that or maybe a children’s hospital but I’m not sure how that would work with germs and such, especially on my G1’s.

(lol) With all those ideas, Gingerbread, sounds like you'd need a full-sized pony basement! XD Wouldn't that be awesome? X3

edit: Basement or attic... whatever's less musty/better insulated XD;; A whole floor for ponies. ;3
My friend in Toronto has a whole basement for her ponies. She used to be on the MLPTP, Twinkler. I was visiting Toronto earlier in the year and we had a play date. My collection used to be larger than hers, but I stopped collecting for 10 years. Her collection is magnificent, but she's super lucky to have a ton of space in her house.

Im super grateful my husband is good at renovating we never would of got through the ton of work we have had to do to our new home. So im happy I may have enough space for things I will have to wait it out even though the room still hasnt been painted yet.

My son and sisters are gonna divvy up my loot. I have an extensive comic and book collection, so what they sell of it should bring them a pretty penny. I've made sure to make lists of what's valuable, but of course, that could change as series and authors fall in and out of favour. I had scads of plushes, and want those all donated to good causes. They'll make some kidlets very happy, I hope.

I'd hate to have to sell all my crap though. They'll be glad I'm dead when they see what a mess I left for them! HYAHAHAHA!

And then he'll have to rehome or keep all the critters here at the sanctuary. Poor Hank. He better hope I live a longggggg time!

I think we all just need to pool our money and move into a giant Pony House. Each of us will have wings for our separate collections. We can sell pony tours and have winding rooms where tourists could legit get lost. Then we can charge em for maps so they can go home.
