Seaswirl: So your telling me that there's a difference between Sea Ponies and Merponies?
Friendly: Yeah, yeah that's right. Sea ponies look like sea horses. There's a lot of em around Dream Valley. They live in salt and fresh water. Yup!
Spike: Merponies are very rare. They have front legs and different tails and only live in deep salt water.
Sea Light: Sea Pony young aren't strong swimmers. They hatch in our ancestral lakes and swim out to sea when they're older.
Seaswirl: Hey Fluttershy, how's the sea life treatin ya?
Fluttershy: I love it! I've been learning about so many wonderful new animals.
Lily Drop: I'm a real meh-pony. *giggles*
Spike: Whaddya mean your a real merpony? Your just a baby hyppogriff.
Skystar: *Actually Spike, Sea Princess, Pearly and Sea Shimmer taught ponies shape-shifting magic a decade ago. On the condition that we help raise their population.
Rainbowdash: Wait what?!
*This is just my personal head canon to explain why baby sea ponies need floaties, the differences, and the origins of the G3.5 and G4 merponies. It's not factual and it's just for fun.
