MLP Fair?? But where???

yes rhode island it is... everyone is waiting for more info. if anyone is thinking of attending book a hotel now because a lot of places are sold out

not sure how i feel about this years fair.... i feel kind of down actually. i think with the lack of information coming from hasbro it is putting allot of collectors in a bad spot...

in one way im glad i can take the greyhound down cause it is cheep on the other i am not looking forward to the long hours and it sucks as this is the ONLY way to get there for me.

i know it is going to be thousands of people there cause it is a con so im terrified of high entry prices and potential table costs

its the lack of information that is ruining it for me right now. the longer i wait to buy my tickets for the bus the more chance at them going up. what if i buy my tickets that are non refundable only to find out entrance and extras are to high?

hasbro please release some information you are leaving it all to late

well everyone is still waiting i see..... and in other bad news my greyhound bus tickets have started to increase in price. they just went up by 7 dollars. ok it's not much but it is a start of a trend

Yeah, I threw in the towel. I can't go in Sept anyways and without the details I'm just not excited for it :( Now I really wish I would've gone last year, I know people had their complaints about some of the things but that might have been our last "real" fair.

It's very frustrating, I agree. We certainly have Hasbro to thank for this delay in information. I'm planning on going but I, like everyone else, eagerly await knowing exactly what I'm going to! ;) lol!

It will not have been our last real Fair, I know that much. Hasbro doesn't own the Fair, so if things go at all south this year, then I think it's likely to reason that things will very quickly go back to the 'old' ways. :)

Well, I won't cross my hooves that it's a disaster cause I wouldn't want to ruin everyone else's time just cause I couldn't go but.....if it's just crummy enough that we can go back to the "regular" fair next year I would be totally ok with that :D

It does seem to be a big secret. I even signed up for an email newsletter to try and get some more information, but all the newsletter said was they were excited and stay tuned.
Online hype seems to focus around transformers since this thing is inclusive of Hasbro as an entity.
I'm trying to remain optimistic and am keeping my eyeballs glued to the internet.

yeah i signed up to and got nothing, i posted on the hascon page and got nothing.

:( Well, being part of the renaissance Faire circuit I can only hope it's due to this being Hasbro's first con and they're just making first year mistakes right now. Some of the best shows I've ever been a part of had a rough first year. Fingers crossed. With so many people from all over interested, I'm sure we'll get news soon.

This is not Hasbro's first Fair. They have one annually. It doesn't mean however that they don't make huge mistakes each time lol. Either their exclusive fair pony is the pits or other issues arrise, but the fairs are always fun for all who get to attend. Nothing is perfect, but this is standard for them to not announce the location this early.

I have a question, if they are calling it Hascon does that mean that the fair will include all Hasbro products and not be pony specific anymore? I am out of the loop on these cons and fairs. So, forgive me if this is the dumbest question ever asked. I just had no idea they changed everything this year from the past years.

hasbro is doing the convention called hascon..... we have no information how the my little pony fair is going to be tied in with it exactly

Thats sad i wanna so badly to go to a mlp fair :) i missed :) idc where it is i would go.
Ive been getting info about hascon but havent looked at it maybe i should just to look.

Hi all, I think I can clear up some misconceptions and provide a little more info:

Hasbro is, for the first time, hosting a very large con called HasCon that focuses on all Hasbro products, including My Little Pony. The convention is simultaneously hosting the MLP Fair at its location in Providence, RI from September 8-10th. https://hascon.hasbro.com/

Ticket and vendor/artist booth prices have been released for HasCon, but this is not necessarily the MLP Fair pricing or venue to purchase tickets for the MLP Fair. We are awaiting information as to how MLP Fair attendees are to proceed.

:( Well, being part of the renaissance Faire circuit I can only hope it's due to this being Hasbro's first con and they're just making first year mistakes right now.

This is a common point of discussion around MLP Fair attendees right now, and I agree completely. Hasbro has been very late in announcing details, and releasing tickets, for its own convention as a whole. I would personally chalk this up to convention-hosting inexperience and the very common red tape associated with workings within such an enormous company. Most unfortunately is that with the delays from Hasbro regarding its own convention, information regarding the MLP Fair has also been pushed back far further than attendees are comfortable or content with.

I will take this moment to clarify that the Fair staff has always gone above and beyond for us, working tirelessly to make the MLP Fair the best event it can possibly be. This delay in information is completely out of their hands, and while they receive criticism for this, I would encourage us all to be as supportive and patient as we can while things get sorted out :)

The Fair and HasCon are two completely different events, and really can't be compared to each other. This is Hasbro's first year hosting its own convention. Fair staff hosts the MLP Fair with contribution and support from Hasbro, but HasCon is an enormous convention entirely of Hasbro's making. I'm not sure what "huge mistakes" you're talking about, and I would not agree that MLP Fair staff has made any of those in the past. Beside that, the Fair staff works far too hard and sacrifices too much for us to receive that kind of criticism, in my opinion ;)

The MLP Fair exclusive is also out of Fair Staff's hands, as Hasbro controls that. It's disappointing not to have an official Fair exclusive anymore, but that isn't really something anyone can improve upon at the time being.

I think I answered this above, but to reiterate, the Fair is being hosted along with HasCon this year, but the Fair is its own entity.

I will come back to this thread to answer any questions that I can, and to share new information as soon as it is made public. :)

hi, you said . The convention is simultaneously hosting the MLP Fair at its location in Pawtucket, RI is that correct? cause hascon is taking place in providence not pawtucket

Yea I already figured all that out finally after being confused and doing some research. Thank you for all the valuable information!! Lets hope there are no complaints and it is a wonderful event. I for one kind of get tired of the pony forum complaint threads before, during and after some of these events. That is what I was referring to. Most of them seem to be centered around the exclusive since G4 came out and then there were a few other issues that were specific to certain people and not a large group or fan base. I think a Hasbro convention that focus's on all the toys in their lines will be a lot of fun for many many people.

I agree, those kinds of comments and threads tend to bother me too, mostly because I know all the Fair staff pretty well. I'm always super thankful for everyone who contributes positive, encouraging, appreciative feedback. :)

I think HasCon should be interesting, but I (like many others) am a little aghast at the admission prices they've released. I just can't quite see many families shelling out that kind of money, only to go in and spend more money.. but that's neither here nor there at this point, really. ;)
