This is Mai Tai, a custom addition to the tropical ponies line! Her symbol was a bit of a cheat...i used scrapbooking stickers. But I did not cheat on her hair, which I painstakingly rerooted using the dental floss method. Her hair came from some hair headbands at the local dollar tree store-- not the best hair, but I'm cheap, okay? Lol. What do you all think? This is my fifth custom ever and I think I'm improving with practice.

Wow I love her hair and listen I can't paint well so symbols would be hard for me. I love her colors. Dollar store hair...nothing wrong with that. I think that is a fabulous idea. I use the dental floss method for hair plug fixes. I have never completely rooted a pony head that way. I would probably have to though because, I still have no rooting tool. I love your pony, great name too.

She is gorgeous! I love her bright, tropical colors, symbol, hair and pose. Well done. :)

Hey on my monitor she looks like a rich lime green with a yellow tint. Is that what color she is? I am loving her base color. Did you dye her?

It is a bright lime green! I painted her with Anita's craft paint (they have it at hobby lobby), which I like for customs because it is so thin it doesn't leave brush marks. You have to put on a lot of coats but it's super smooth.

It is a challenge, but it's more tedious than anything else. You put dental floss through the hole for the hair plug, catch the hair with the loop of dental floss, then pull it through the hole. It takes a long time. But once you get the hang of it it's not too bad.

I am amazed that is paint. You did a fantastic job painting that pony. I love the color.

She's great! I love those neon colors.

I like the texture of her hair.

Honestly, I hate cutiemarks. If I have a design where I don't have to do them, it's a fine time.

Typically my original designs don't involve cutiemarks, I like to enjoy doing more elaborate details

Paint cutiemarks when necessary though which is half the time.

If someone sees a custom of mine and are like "where's the cutiemark?"

My mind goes "I DON'T CARE MAYBE I ATE IT" loooooolll

:lolpony: That needs to be a new villain now!

Love her colours. The tropicals are among my favourite ponies. Great paint job.

She looks amazing! I never thought of looking for hair at the dollar store! What a great way to save some $ :)
