Yes! Year 3 Sea Ponies are very sought after. A good price would be maybe 40-45$?

Do you have a picture? We can help you identify them and price them accordingly.

Tysvm...I looked at this guide, how accurate is it do you think ? Looking at it and since I'm just beginning to collect, I'm wondering if it would be a good investment , other than just fun, looks like prices are declining . What do you think? Is it a bad time to get started ? What about pony bride and speed 4, that's in another lot with 3 other common ponies, found it for 17, worth the buy?

Prices go up and down. Around summer through Christmas they shoot up. I flip ponies and have a good time doing it to help fund my collecting. I found the prices go down around January and stay down through spring and early summer and pick up around June/July. It's a common trend and of course prices of ponies vary depending on what condition the ponies are in. If they are in baity condition or TLC condition they are going to be lower priced. If they are in near mint condition or MIP condition, they are going to be higher priced.

Ok. Thanks.no see what you're saying bc 4 speed's hair is cut , although I really want him. I just need to find out which ones are the rare or hard to find, bc I passed up the tux n tail bc I didn't know his value

I use bluerose's price guide, it's a great resource (there is a link in her signature, in her post above) :)

Congrats on getting Dipper, she is cute and also relatively hard to find I think!

Pony collecting is a blast, but as far as it being a good investment . . . To be blunt no, buying ponies is not a good investment at all. Prices can fluctuate rapidly and without a predictable pattern. And most ponies do not appreciate in value very much, compared to their original cost. Plus there's the cost of shipping and (if you are selling the extras on eBay) fees for eBay and Paypal. Pony collecting is really, really fun, but I would never look at it as an investment (except in cute pieces of plastic. ;) )

As far as starting a collection, most of the time a lot of ponies will be cheaper per pony than buying each pony individually.
